So where are you guys re-enforcing your blasters? I was going to do the sides, nose, bottom and transom this week before i paint it next weekend. I there anything I should do in the pump area?
I filled in the back lip and made a 45 deg angle to the transom. Used expanding foam and the shaped it, and layed glass over it. Makes for easier landings in the surf and will keep you from tearing the lip off. I reinforced mine just like a stand up. Nose and sides, top to bottom.

One of the guys from Tampa area cracked the front lower hull nose area from BR's.
On a side note, yesterday I did about 10 perfect roles on a completely stock B1 with the exception of a intake grate, and steering mod  It has Zero reinforcement, and is still flawless.... It only takes that one really bad landing though to do some damage.
Blasters are so fun to role, I could never do roles on a SJ on a peaky 6ft+ wave and ride out still cruizing along as if I didnt even jump a wave. :headbang: ... sorry, Im just totally stoked after yesterday :woot:

Hey Brett, what material, and how much are you using? I think one layer of 1208 Biax would be plenty for the entire ski.
I am feeling the urge to do a light weight B1 now... that stocker was a blast to role, but a absolute pig for surf riding, and my style of stabs.... I think I would get bored.

I did one layer of 12oz Biax and one layer of 11oz carbon for the sides. Same as my SJ.

Perfect! That will be plenty strong. Sqeagy out the excess resin after putting down the carbon!

SHould I leave the foam out of the nose or put it back in? I am leaning towards putting it back in.

I just did this to my blaster, you can see the details HERE (http://www.wavejunkies.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=3941), and the pictures HERE (http://www.wavejunkies.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=31&page=1&sort=na)
A really good write up is available HERE (http://www.wavejunkies.com/surf-survival/63-mod-blaster-1-reinforcement), with pictures available for the writeup HERE (http://www.wavejunkies.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=9)
The write up includes a list of supplies necessary, as well as tips on what and where to re-inforce
