Riding Wetbikes video - any better hosts?

Ok, so we shot some video with a camera the other day (www.helmetcamera.com) and have it posted up on photobucket.

Loosing a lot of resolution/brightness when it gets compressed into flash video format. Was gonna install DivX and and try again.

- - - > Question: Anybody know of a good site to host DivX videos (besides Stage6)?

If you want your videos to look the way you want you have to do it yourself. It takes some work but provides a lot of satisfaction.

The sites that host video can't afford infinite bandwidth and storage so they turn it into crap. Considering what a lot of people put up it doesn't matter. Your video looks like the quality has potential. You want the world to see it like you see it on your TV.

DIY approach. Except for web hosting it's all free:
Get your own website. It's like a couple bucks a month. Dreamhost (http://www.dreamhost.com/) is what SuperJETT recommends and has lots of bandwidth and storage.

Encode your videos yourself. Don't like how Photobucket encodes your stuff? Do it yourself with Riva FLV encoder (http://www.rivavx.com/?encoder). Turn it up as high as you want.

Put it on the web site. A popular tool to put flash videos on the web is JW Flash Player (http://www.jeroenwijering.com/?item=JW_FLV_Player)

I've been doing the stuff on my web site like this over a year. Unfortunately when my whimpy Godaddy hosting was getting full I moved some into my free Comcast webspace. That was a big mistake. It looks OK but has to buffer a lot.

Thanks for the update - have tried a couple of different things - DivX, Riva, Sony Vegas Movie Studio 6.0, moviemaker, etc.

Here's a couple of vids from the raw footage I got on Sunday. Note the nice smooth water. Only 3 other boats all day long.
