you just need to send the CDI unit out, not the whole ebox. Lots of places do it, and there is a do it yourself thread here on the board. RIVA and Protec are two places that do it that I can think off the top of my head. Even check out ebay for units that have already had it done.

I just don't want to do the modification myself. I would prefer paying someone who has done it hundreds of times.

Then send it to Riva or Pro-Tec

Take a look here:

Posts 4 and 9 show how it is done. Just do the short wire on the board to completely eliminate the limiter and there is no need to cut open down the side of the box (that is only if you are adding a variable resistor to change the limit, and then you may have to try it a few times to get it set right).

We (myself, Powder, PancakePete, and Jim) did it as a last-minute quick substitute for Jim Pellicano's RedBull ski blown Factory Fire CDI on Saturday. Overall it took about a half hour, and would have been a lot less time if only one of us worked on it. :silly:

John also used a hot glue gun to refill the opening as you know that in time there will be water intrusion in the ebox.

If you're unsure of yourself doing it, pick up a used CDI off ebay for your ski and try on that.

I have one that is already done that I would be willing to sell. I'm looking to pick up an enhancer. PM me if interested.

I can do the mod if you like. I have done probably 20 without any problems. I eliminate the rev-limiter completely, I think that is what most do. I run that on both my skis.

PM me if your intrested

I can do it for you. It will be the adjustable mod just like ProTec or Riva but for much less. I have done 30 or so with no problems. PM if interested.

I did the same mod on all our boats, never have blown and engine (well, not because of the rev limiter delete anyway)

I have been giving serious thought to getting my rev limiter back. When I launched off a wav, I was not always 100% on top of the throttle, and it would race.

But then, I had to be real careful, as I had removed the throttle screw from the carb, and had to not let off to much throttle or it would stall, and not pull it to much, or it would rev off the top. Tricky when trying to learn barrel rolls.

But then, when I get my start/stop switch fixed, it may not be as much of an issue, as I can set the ski to idle, and wont have to worry about a stall if I let off the throttle.

but it was sooooooooooo nice to be able to just jump on the ski, hit the start and gas, and take off.

I bought the one off of adet16v i will swap it with the stock 650 one in the next month or two. Gotta wait for snowmobiling season to end.

Would have ran it without the rev limiter, but can't trust it if a buddy jumps on and takes it for a rip.
