Does anyone know if it is possible to download a Youtube video? If so how do I do it?

Because I feel generous tonight, try this: Google "download youtube on vista"

Plenty to choose from, but no guarantees it works.
Or that you can figure it out. :loser:

Wow with a friend like you. . . I figured it out by the way. . . kind of at least. I found a youtube video made by and 8 year old that walked me through it. He/she lost me a few times and I had to rewind but in the end his/her competency was able to overcome my ineptitude.

Is that the new training methodology employed by the SEL Manufacturing facility?

Btw, I have to come across as mean to you because I just have to mask my own ineptitude with (Vista) computers.

OK: I'll give you a hand.
Use this program to download the FLV files from You tube:
http://www.orbitdownloader.com/
The "Grab" tool in the program identifies valid FLV files (flash video player) that are on You tube and will "rip" them to your hard drive.
You can then view the files by downloading an FLV player:
http://www.simtel.net/product.download.mirrors.php?id=95201

That's it!
Or, if you want to convert the FLV files to AVI's or WMV's, you can pay for this program- it's excellent:
http://www.smallvideosoft.com/
(look for the Freez FLV to AVI/MPEG/WMV Converter download in the lower right of the page) You can use it for free for a while, but then it locks up and you have to pay for it.

Alright bitches, school's in session:

Download Mozilla Firefox - install it. http://www.mozilla.org/
Download the Mozilla plugin DownloadHelper - install it. http://www.downloadhelper.net/
Download a good .flv player, I like FLV Player - install it. http://www.martijndevisser.com/blog/flv-player/

When you are watching a YouTube video, there will be three little rotating balls just to the right of the address bar, click that and select the video you want to save.

You're welcome.

xoxo

Download helper rocks! It updates regularly to follow the ways they change the sites to prevent you from downloading.

The way they pull questionable vids (which are the good ones) off Youtube all the time it's nice to snag them.
