your link went to a flamearrestor set up for a 550 and if that wot you are talking about i woulnt really recoment that filter set up .
but yes the x2 did come ot with a 38mm keihin cdk11 carb and should bolt on allright . the only thing that might trip you up is if this came off a pole ski or a x2 for the throlte cable onto the drum . they are diffrent form the x2 (top pull cable) to the pole ski (bottom pull cable)

I appreciate the advice, why do you say that? What would you reccommend for my x2? Crab said he has an "OP" filter that will work well, what does OP stand for and does anyone else have one that can give me a heads up on it? I know hes not trying to screw me since hes helped me a lot so far but I was just wondering if anyone else can share their opinion.

Well since it came off a ski with a stock 44mm BN Mikuni, I'd say no, it will not just plop right on top of a Keihin 38mm CDKII.

The adapter that he has in his pic looks like the adapter I have on mine right now in my pics... Besides that mine has 2 bolts and his has 4
OP stands for ocean pro...its a manufacturer

this statement is not all true. the later model x2's i think 92 up had the 38mm.
prior to that they were 28mm. and no the adapter wont work its for a sbn mikuni
4 bolt pattern you need a 2 bolt pattern adapter as pictured above.
28mm top pull
38mm bottom pull
As long as that k&N FA is a clamp on style than I can't see why it won't work with your existing adapter. I am pretty sure they are a universal fit. Not the number one choice of FA I would recommend but if its cheap than go for it.

for flame arrestors on x2,s me personaly i had after market flame arrestors , x2,s take water on bad enough and every after market flame arrestor ive tryed encourages water injestion into motor. ive run a k&n , ocean pro , jetentics (all with outer wear as well ) and on the x2 they all suck water big time when you are playing round . the flame arrstors that work best in my opion on x2,s are factory super jet ones for single carbs and i love my blaster twin carb set up flame arrestor , its a night and day diffrence to keeping water out off the engine , here are some pics off all the set ups ive run

Dude thats why I said your not trying to because you helped me out a lot, I learned a lot from you and from your build thread also. Im just trying to educate myself here and get some opinions if your ocean pro is good or a stock one would be better...

W-nut thats exactly what I wanted to see, thanks a lot. The 1st pic is the stock filter from the x2 right? How did that work out for you? What did you have to do to get the sj one to fit on? Which of the 2 was better?

I know, just cracked me up. Save your money and get a Mikuni 44 and SJ flame arrestor, you will need that later with the SJ pipe anyway.

why would I change my carb and get rid of my westcoast pipe for a mikuni and an sj pipe? Would that be better?
yeah i have no idea if it will fit on that. it came off my stock kawasaki 550 soo who knows...
but the k and N should fit ur existing adaptor

I'm going to put the adapter from my x2 on my 650sx and put the K&N on there and take the stock one I have on my 650sx and put it on the x2. That should do it since my sx doesn't take on water like the x2

SBN 44 and the SJ arrestor is the hot ticket, if you dont mind dropping the $$$.
But the 38K with the stock FA worked nicely on my Coffman piped 650 X2 I ran last year.
