ignition ???

what are our choices for after market ignitions for the sxr. i know of the 3that blowsion offer. anything else? how do they rank?

I have the 9R, and so far so good. No complaints except that you have to put a disconnect in or it will drain your battery if you don't unhook it. There is a new programable via a laptop from someone, I'll see if I can find it. Don't know a thing about it though. Also there is total loss.

How much of a difference does an Aftermarket ignition make. I am still stock.

Why do you want an a/m ignition? What other mods are done to your ski? If you have a full blown superstock or full limited setup you'll probably need it, but dont get it otherwise. You'd be throwing money away if you dont have much done to your ski and buy an ignition. I have a full limited and run an MSD enhancer, only because without it I hit the rev limiter.

As far as the 9R goes, i have a wet pipe, head, impeller, & large hub pump cone. I'd say it does as much or more than the wet pipe.

What RPM are you turning in your Limited? I was under the impression that the rev limiter on the stock sxr was around 8000 rpm. You shouldn't be running anywhere close to the rev limit on a limited boat.
You could gain some better bottom end punch as well as some RPM's on top with an aftermarket ignition (advent, blowsion, igni-power, etc).

Yep, it still uses the stock setup. Works great you just need a disconnect switch for the ignition or battery.

tell him what u have for mods and he will give u good curve sets, that ign will hold 4 diff ones,be aware of alum flywheels with this se up some dont work due to the magnits..

I just put a cdi-9r in mine, & what a diffrence it made. i ran curve 5 which is almost stock & the ski ripped, cant wait to try curve 7 ski should be a monster. :woot:. Worth every penny.
