What's eveyone's opinion on wearing a helmet? Do you always wear a helmet or just when the waves are big or doing new tricks?

I wear mine all the time, learned the hard way. Opened up my forehead broke my nose and had stitches coming out my nose down my lip. Don't learn how I did.

I got a Blowsion freeride helmet last year. I am still learning so I wanted something that was a full face. Last year I went out late in the season to just mess around and didn't wear it. I fell "just messing around" and almost smashed my face. I think I am gonna wear it all the time now.

I wear my helmet every time I ride. Granted, I always ride in the surf. It doesn't take much to get knocked out or bash your face real good. On top of that, I try to do something new EVERY time I ride. So there is never really a day where I'm just taking it easy. But remember, just because a trick isn't new doesn't mean it can't go horribly wrong.

I wear mine everytime. One burst eardrum was all it took. I wore it quite a bit before, but didn't one day, landed a 3/4 roll off a small wake and pop.

I will have SXR-Lou dig up the after stitching pic, didn't get any of all the nice blood.
Lou, post a pic.
It was a bloody mess though but I still drove myself to the hospital. Told them I got hit in the face with a water ski.

From what I have read at PWCT about this topic, a helemet should be purchased and worn at the same time as a PFD (life vest). The links below have had good feedback from riders. I will probably get the ProBMX for Freestyle/ride and a Pro-Tec style for rec use.
Full Face (by price):
ProRider - Pro BMX (http://prorider.com/pro/default.php/cPath/2)
Lite III Helmet - Motorcycle USA Superstore (http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/item.aspx?style=9077&department=201&division=2&WT.MC_ID=80001Fly)
Blowsion (http://www.blowsion.com/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=HEBE202)
Blowsion Line (http://www.blowsion.com/search_results.asp?txtsearchParamType=ALL&txtsearchParamCat=12&txtsearchParamMan=ALL&txtsearchParamVen=ALL&txtDateAddedStart=&txtPriceEnd=&txtPriceStart=&txtSale=&txtsearchParamTxt=*&txtFromSearch=&subcat=24-bottom&iLevel=2&txtCatName=2) (Freeride Giro has had good feedback).
Flatwater (non-freestyle):

if anyone wants one he'd do one for 2-300 depending on design/time spent.
