Thanks guys! I always knew what I wanted my X2 to be but I just didn't know what it would take to get it there. Luckily I am happy with the combination of motor, pump and hull mods I made to get it where I hoped it could be.
Jerry, Art (Hangtime) and Joe (H20Rocket) took the pictures with one of those waterproof Sony digitals. I totally owe those guys for hooking me up with pictures all the time.
all hail to the x2 MASTAH!!!!!

There isn't much room before the back of the blades are off the wear ring. I thought I read you did some machining to the pump section also. He didn't have a pump section in the shop to look at, so I have to provide him with the measurements.

I got what Robert Sands had made for me at Skat Trak. I had to bore past the pumpliner to get the impeller in all th way. It is a little scary since I am where the pump tapers narrower so it barely had enough thickness to be bored that deep. I wouldn't know how much it is set back unless I took it apart and measured. Call Robert (Jetskimechanic) and ask him if he knows what he made for me. I would reccomend going a little less set back so the pump isn't quiet so thin back there.

Thats exactly what I thought, I will take some exact measurements. How do you like the swirl compared to a standard? Worth the extra expense?

I have some small pin cases, but I am afraid to use them, possibly repairable. The front bearing journal has a small ridge, I opted for another set for my project 750.

I like the swirl a lot. It didn't cost much more than any other good impeller.
I am having trouble finding someone who can bore out my pump past the liner, anyone know who has done this?

I had to find a shop with a large boring bar. They guys mounted the entire pump in the jaws of the lathe and extended the boring bar as deep as it would go into the pump. It vibrated a lot but got it done. Cost me $60.

i wish my x2 was that bad ass...:frown:
Pete, what cdi are you running? Mine died, or at least seemed to about 3 miles from nowhere up the river sloughs. I got towed in and later it started back up after some jiggling. I was in the middle of a tail spin and it just went pop-pop and died. 18 years and flogging it at Westport last weekend couldn't have had any effect...lol. I want to replace it to be sure, but thinking of upgrading to Dale's bad attitude.

sounds like its time for a new cdi. i have a bunch lying around just for the same reason. if you decide not to spring for the dales bad attitude cdi look for an 86 cdi because it didn't have a rev limiter
Legdragger
06-26-2006, 11:09 PM
I was running a 95 CDI but now I think one of the 89's I have is in there. The off function stopped working on the first one. I don't rev my motor out so I am cool with the rev limiter. I am tuned for low end BRAAAP!
