I was putting my X2 together and have a 650 engine for it. I just picked up this doner ski for cheap. I've been wanting a 750 and this deal was too good to pass up. The doner ski is very nice. I kind of feel bad taking apart something like this. All well, I'll be taking apart something nice to put together something nice, so I wont feel too bad. (I like to build, not destroy)
So I have a few questions...
How is this engine going to work in my X2 and my 650SX? It's suppose to be completely stock (with new "racing" pistons, the carbs are new but I think stock, and an oil block off).
I think I can just drop it in. I was thinking I would (1) put in a left support on the right side to fit dual carbs (2) replace stock bed plate with extra ocean pro plate (3) bolt on westcoast pipe with stock 650 waterbox (4) drop in 750 engine (5) how should I mount the 750 electronics? (6) have Tom from ProfessionalJetSkiRepair.com lighten the flywheel.
Anyone want to fill in the gaps or have any comments/suggestions? Tomorrow I will take the ski out for a little ride and to test the engine. It ran good out of the water. It has a working Tach. That's neat. =)

I'm supposidly the 3rd owner. The 1st owner was fresh water only, the second bearly rode it.
I'm not going to put a 650 back in the hull (I'm not planning to anyway...). I'm probably going to put the 650 in the SX since I don't need it for the X2.

Poor ski.
So I'm guessing there shouldn't be any problems dropping in this motor the route I have suggested?

None at all,the elect box gets strapped to the side of the tank where the oil tank used to reside.

Thanks, that was the one part I wasn't sure about.
Do you guys ever use the 750 pumps? I have lots of stainless props for 650s. I doubt they'd work in a 750 driveline.

some pipe/tank combos will not work. some tank/battery placement combos will not work. thats why i moved the battery to under the seat and made brackets for the ebox where the battery used to be.
fyi, its a 750ss engine and box with SJ b pipe (mod chamber) and SJ tank.

I don't really get the 750 pump mod, first off its a lot of work to make it fit, second it isn't any bigger nor does it flow any better than the 650 pump, thirdly 750 props can be modded to fit the pump so it has the same setback as the 750 pump, unless you do a lot of prop changing it dosen't make a lot of sense. :buttkick:

Wow. This ski rips. I can't wait to get the engine into the X2 with the pipe, prop and intake grates. I can defenatly see why you guys are running this engine.

Thats really funny. I did the exact same thing. I found a 94' ss/xi for $550 and used the engine/electronics! take the engine mounts for spares and ebaythe rest!
x2's NEED 750s!!!
