They are good poles... you'll NEVER break them. Some people just don't like the looks of them. Is it the Kawi Version or the SJ version. The kawi one is super ugly. I like the SJ ones.

persoanlly, i don't like teh looks, but they are strong.

i broke my SXR pole a while back, and at first went with a std UMI yam pole. it was about 2 inches LONGER than the stock kawi pole when adapted to my ski. i didn't like that at all. ( it looked good though).

i now have the rick roy, and absolutley love it. IMO it looks perfect on the big SXR hull, it is strong, and you can adjust it to whatever length you want.

I wouldn't pay much for it if it is the Kawi version... $175 at most. imo

talk to Brian (Proformance1) about the RRP. I didn't like it at first, but it's grown on me. He's adjusted the length several times and absolutely loves it. It's more $$ but he swears it's worth it.

I thought the RRPs were heavy... Aren't the kawis heavy enough? I would go with an X metal or superjet AC if I did it again. My UMI is light, but I broke it twice (myown fault)

yes, they are heavy, but i don't notice it. i am using a stock spring, with a spring tensioner, and it feels fine. ofcourse, if you are looking to shead some weight on the whole ski, well, then you may not want this. but IMO this one looks awesome, and moreso, i ilke the adjustablility ( < is that even a word?)
