i worked, and the pipe did not break or come apart.
i had to re-adjust the stock 44mm sbn carb, then one of the stock red spark plug caps came loose, but i was able to got to shore without a tow.
overall results = better than the 61x stock pipe.
now i need to get some ngk spark plug caps + play with the waterlines.

i found this on that other jetski site.
it's a way to mod a stock 650sx kawasaki pipe to run less water inside.
it's been raining for a couple of weeks now in the pdx area, so it's time to do some r+d !!!

I did that mod on my 750 powered 650sx, it ran almost identically to a westcoast pipe. It will make a difference if done properly.
I just welded nipple 'c' in nipple 'd's' location.

I have a variation of the 650 pipe modded in your diagram. Seemed to work pretty good on a stock ski. I always wanted to put a FPP water screw adjuster in the head pipe where thyey put the new hose barb at E where you could adjust the water at point B.

PS there are some "B" pipe chambers on eBay.

i got a nice mod'd p/v factory pipe head pipe now.
i also mod'd the stock 650sx stinger and head pipe like that post suggested, and added another 4" pipe section to the chamber.
hope to have the muffler shop expand the end of the stinger so i can get rid of the extra hose-sleeve i added to the hose going to the waterbox.

the muffler shop said no way to expand the stinger end without breaking the metal, so that's not going to happen.
so i added another 4" section of stock 650 kawasaki pipe in-between the chamber + stinger, mod'd the head pipe with waterline fittings, added a water line fitting to the end of the stinger, and added another water by-pass fitting to the side of the hull.
what it does to the low-end horsepower band is just a ride away.

looks really good, Like to see the test results. You might want to keep that stinger small. :smokin:

That pipe and mod would probably work better with the 140mm kawi setup. More load at a lower rpm...
Hows that other project going?

flash, that pic looks like the way r-d did it on the stinger end of there pipes for there old school pipe's.
i just need to put the gas tank in, get some better weather here, and get it wet.
i'm waiting to see how mike at northwet kawi pump upgrade turns out before i choose which way i will go.

that extra section seems to have smoothed out the whole power band !!!
cheap factory B pipe !!!
i can hear the stock 61x cdi hitting the rev limiter.
it was pretty choppy on the river sunday, but it was sunny and around 70' !!!
that's the key !!!
the fishermen were pretty happy with the catch too.
now it's back to the doomzone, rainy and cold.

i thought i would bump this up for seats to look at.
he just posted a 650sx pjs pipe for sale, and that pipe should work just as good if not better than my sj cheater pipe setup i put on this fx1.
