just picked this baby up just before daytona and so far i cut out the 24/7 footholds, defoamed, installed a new xmetal scupper, installed WCF's new footholds, refoamed, beefed up the bond line inside the hull.
im in the middle of turfing the ski right now and in the immediate future im getting a brand new xmetal pole setup w/ WCF chinpad. custom graphics from exotic signs and a new WCF hood kit is in the not-too-distant future as well.
i still have to reinforce the insides w/ kevlar carbon fiber which will happen immediately after turfing.
any comments or suggestion are welcome.
here are some pics

Did you reinforce the sides in the back when you had the back cut open?
Did you cut the turf yourself?

Good deal. I just got done reinforcing the back end of mine. Unfortunately, I am still working on buttoning it back up.
Someone should teach me how to cut my own turf. Do you make a template?
Or do you just sort of...cut as you go?

Most spend their first turfing time cutting perfectly, then when it matches great, make templates.

nope. we were supposed to get the 1". its on the invoice and we were billed for it though. im not done foaming the tray area. im going to double (maybe triple in some spots) up the foam in the footholds before applying the turf. i love turfing!

glad you asked! im going to put the engine from my spongebob squarenose into it. it is:
61x cylinder STD bore ported by WCF
62t cases
WCF modified 48mm single mikuni on a riva intake
stock F/A
B pipe
TDR waterbox
MSD enhancer
riva girdled head @185/187 psi
concorde 13/17
this engine hits nice and strong at the bottom and has no dead spots all throughout the throttle range. very peppy. it feels nice in my heavy square. i cant wait to feel the power in my round!
oh, and i have to add a second exhaust. thanks for reminding me!:woot:

3 things wrong.
1. There arent enough rivets (you gotta put em every 3cm.)
2. You didnt complain enough about how they didnt fit perfectly, and how they were cracked.
3. You didnt post enough pictures about number 2.

As long as they fit good and you use enough epoxy you don't need rivets.

the entire nose section is now reinforced w/ 2 layers of 1208 biaxial and 3 layers of 1208 getting sandwiched between the bracket and backing plate.
also. i reinforced the area underneath the hood seal/lip on the inside w/ mat and 1208 biaxial for additional strength (obviously) and to make a smooth transition for the carbon/kevlar thats going on the inside walls.
to be continued.....

just run the fuel line from the reserve tube straight to the carb (with a filter of course). it eliminates about 10 feet of fuel line in your ski and eliminates a potentially cloggable/leaky/whatever valve.

i thought about welding the tee to the box. i might do it after i have everything situated and know EXACTLY where the box and tee should be in relation to eachother. after the battery, pipe, tank etc is installed, the position may need to change. its much easier to make that change with a piece of hose vs a welded setup. also, like steve says, its just an oem ski..... who cares about clean?
also, i was considering welding a second outlet on the front of the waterbox and eliminating the tee altogether, but with the exhaust tube i used, id still need a 90* fitting, so i figured, WTF, put the tee.

paul sponsored the graphics 100%. hes a genuine artist that creates everything that comes out of his shop unlike other "graphics companies" that use clip art or steal other peoples work and call it their own. now, had he not sponsored the ski, i wouldve had him put something else there. i wouldnt have left it blank because it wouldve been a big blank spot begging for something..... and i wasnt going to kill this ski by putting reg numbers there. i originally wanted it blank, but he said that SOMETHING should go there..... i suggested the exotic signs. he didnt argue.

Exotic signs is sponsoring SFL .That's funny right there .
So that means he's getting paid to have the exotic sticker in the middle of his boat or he got the graphics kit for free ??
I like the graphics I'm just saying the "representation" is too big .
Not everyone likes the same things peeps that's why we have forums so people can express their different opinions
you can roll your eyes till they come out your arse. yes, paul is sponsoring me and hooked me up w/ the graphics kit. thats what a sponsorship is. maybe you think its funny but i dont see any sponsorship on any of your boats.:Banane01:

I don't see the problem, there are people that run the hugeamongous Yamaha pitchforks logo thing and they aren't sponsored by Yamaha, then there are people that put stickers on their skis to show what parts they are running, but they aren't sponsored by those companies either.
Charlie got a great deal, Exotic gets exposure, why does anyone have a problem with that?

Who the hell said I have a problem with it ,just said I don't like the graphic being right down the middle and BIG .Just personal taste .
That's cool man ,he paid for it he should have his name on it .:cool2:
Charlie you need a "plumbing fork" logo like the one in my avatar. :cool2:

Then you really don't have to post that, do you? If I posted negative stuff about everything I don't personally like, I'd be posting all day long. There's no point, if you don't like it fine, you don't have to broadcast that fact on the guy's thread, it works for him.

Excuse me ? don't give your opinion .Since when is that how forum's are run .
I have the right to voice my opinion and I will continue to do so :headbang:
Sorry if I offended you SFL .I love the graphics job man .:arms: :arms:

It's called not being negative on something that someone else is proud of. You know, respecting other's tastes?
I plan on trying to keep this site a positive place to be, not somewhere where you're going to get bashed for posting pics of your stuff.
Voicing your opinion is one thing, bashing other people's stuff is another.

Your telling me not to post if I don't like it but your posting that you don't like my post .WTF.I wasn't bashing anybodies stuff .Bashing would be saying it sucked or was horrible or was nasty .
I said nothing of the sort so get off my back about it.:261:  :disappointed:

A differing opinion has never hurt anyone... especially SFL! LOL
I personally think Exotic deserved that spot (or some other prominent spot) for all their efforts. They earned it. Otherwise, I'd agree with Art. :dunno:

They did deserve the spot ,they designed it they did the work and paid for it ,so of course they deserve it .A mountain out of a mole hill :aargh4:
