I'm seeing all these cool parts/bling for X-2's from Japan...... Do any USA Dealer build or carry these parts for us State-side junkies!!!!

I want:
1. Custom Billet Trim Set-up....purpose built.... not my home brew BMX Cable Set-up with wood screws :)
2. Custom Steering Cover parts....... someone has to make these locally. :pat:

I WANT I WANT!!!!

Anyone want to do a group purchase from Japan?

Anyone going to japan any time soon ?

Hook a brutha up.

Well how does the USD compare to the Japan Yen? Thats going to be a big factor on how expensive it is to import parts... The USD has a very low worth right now.

i was thinking of machining some of the trim setups, from what i have and the pics on the net i should be able to duplicate. but my fear is the demand i know a lot of people want these but if i do this will they sell?? if we can get a fairly large group together that wants them ill try to get this project rolling

let me have your imput

I'm in.... but also considering the above post about the exchange rate between the Yen and the Dollar.... you could sell these to Japan.... and get payment in YEN...... and make some mucho YEN :)

The pivot block can't be that hard to machine...... I might give it a go...... al is easy to machine, and the cable and lever are off the shelf items.

If you build it we'll buy it ;)

since a few chimmed in im going to start working on a model this weekend, i should be able to post some prototype pics soon. after i get a working model i should be able to ballpark a price. but dont worry guys im not trying to get rich, i know there not going to be $20 but i will try to keep the cost down to a min
so the final wont be to bad. materials shouldnt be to much its just depends on the nc work and machine time.

this is exactly why i did not want to say anything till i was done with them. i don't want to make any promises there is to many people involved with the progect. i am going to the machine shop tonight or tomorrow to check on the progress. and as far as how $deep$ i am right now. just the aluminum, cables, levers, my time, and the shop time.

please don't take it the wrong way. i just don't know yet. (shop time$ or if my time will be worth anything depending on how the thing comes out). but now the presser is on.

If someone has access to a CNC mill that is your best bet. That way only one program has to be written.

The cable and lever from a BMX shop should be no more than 35-40 max. The big dollars will be in the machine time, programming, and raw alinum cost. If you guys are running salt water, I recommend it gets a clear anodizing too.

My Japan wish list:

Trim Setup
Dash Cover
Rear Tray Step Things
Foot Holds
Keihin Throttle Drum

Hood - wishful thinking
Hull - wishful thinking
Big Bore P/V cylinder - day dreaming about lottery winnings

If you guys go on Motoine's website or Hot Products Japan, there a lot of cool little small parts I could add up to $500 or so that I want. That have the coolest things. Probably because they are not as easily obtained here.

Hey WAD, if you do have those trim pieces machined. You should make them work for both up or down! The Japanese ones are only up trim. If a little more though went into the design, you could make them work both ways.

still have to finish the model and talk an nc operator to run it for me that will be the easy part. im still riding on the weekends and taking small jobs on the side so i can get this sj built so i havent had much down time, but its coming soon and i can get some work done on it.

i was going for simple. i want to make one similar to the pic i posted for a simple bolt and go option and keep the cost at a minimum.
but for the more die hard x2'er im working on something else for the trim......
would any of you all be interested in a bulkhead mounted trim system with almost effortless lever pull?? and will also allow for a smooth dash. this will definitely cost more then the above screen shot, but im dong everything i can to keep production cost low. my scope on the original design was to make a full bolt and go kit, cable, lever, and throw system all for under $200. depending on the intensity of the nc work needed i think i can make this happen. thats another reason for the simplistic design structure. if i can get away from all nc work then i could defiantly keep it in that price range.
thanks for the input guys, i am always looking for feedback
as soon as i get a decent model of the BH trim i will give you guys another image to drool over i promise you guys will like this.
