I know Maekawa Engineering made them in Japan. It looks like on their website now they are out of that hull business :(
There was another company but I don't have the link anymore. I don't think Shin Racing made any hulls. They were more of a hop up shop. So here is a link to the Maekawa Engineering hull:

Shin Racing:

I still want a set of those Shin Racing footholds for the x2,I will end up making my own probably.I wonder if carbon fiber would be the way to go on those?

I think you can buy them from Jet Wave. But Jet Wave never emaield me back. I figure it would be cheaper if you made them yourself! I do believe they are originally made by Craftsman Movement. You should just see what I found on DASA's website :)

Yup! I would buy one. I figured out a long time ago how much "fun factor" is worth! when people ask me why I have such an expensive motor in a "thousand dollar ski" (my TJ built 750 stroker in my X2), I have to chuckle b/c every time I step off the ski, I find myself giggling like a kid. What's that worth?! People with that attitude will never experience that kind of fun!!!!

wow...that zero gravity hull is nice! check out the bottom!....and 1/2 the weight as stock
also, checking out the "new" x2 hull....it basically comes with everything you need to make it work...even steering!

I like how they are made for a 750 pump and grate. They also have rear exhaust and a scupper, well the old Maekawa Engineering one did...
But the bigest benefit is the LIGHT WEIGHT!!!

Is that jet factory hull $4300 US? Thats not that horrible for an 88lb ski!! If anyone is interested in picking up one, I might jump in if we get a break on shipping.
24-7 is less than 10miles from my house, maybe I should stop by sometime...lol

Yeah and push them to make an X2 hull!!! If not at least make some conversion hoods agaon for an SJ. That way I will finally be nudged to buy an SJ.

Problem is Pete...will you be able to afford to buy a new one every year or 2? You seem to go through them like crazy.
I do however vote you to buy the first one and bash it around. If you dont bust it up I should be ok to buy one.

Check out the back sides of the X2 hull from shin....Looks as if they were changed to help BR's, kinda like some of the jap SJ hulls.

Theoretically it would be stronger than stock. I could ride a stock hull in surf anyway but it would be nice for flatwater with a burly 900cc + motor running on race gas and total loss. Total loss would keep you out of salt water even if you wanted to ride it.
Getting rid of the double concave bottem would make it land so much less harsh. It is just the front half of the bottem deck that has it.

That looks like stock X2 hulls to me. My two have that little edge on them. There is no way I am doing a BR though without a lot less weight, a lot more power, or a lot bigger wave.

I heard this directly from THE source ( 24-7 )
They will be heavily customised versions of the old x-2.
I don't think I could afford to buy and devote any MORE time to another x-2, but I am excited to see someone building something new and different here in the U.S.

I heard 24/7 hulls come apart... may want to consider that before purchasing.... some day Trinity will have the real deal..... The lower hull is already done

This is my wish list for a modded hull whether it is old or new style:
1) 85 pounds and strong enough to ride surf on (maybe)
2) 2" shorter in the rear.
3) Moved back motor 3-5 inches (better yet give me a couple driveshaft options and multiple motor mount locations and I can figure out where I like it)
I say this because a comparable 650 sx driveshaft is 6" shorter than the X2.
4) 750 pump shoe installed. Just to make it so standard props fit.
5) A superjet style bottem rather than the double concave bottem so it doesn't land so hard if you come down flat or have to ride through chop.
6) A warranty if the hull falls apart and I am out thousands of dollars with not much to show for it.

you already know the hull you need.... And it would be way under 80lbs... ready for what ever you got! Call Bobby and start harrassing him

I will add a few points...
- Scupper already installed
- Rear exhaust already installed (through hull silencer?)
- Rear of hull at a 90 degree angle instead of the sloping down (this is a pretty much given if you do the two above mods, Japanese hulls are like this)
- Custom center battery box/location like Pete's old ski
- Mounts in the tray for multiple foot strap locations (I want inserts glassed in so I can bolt up the Dakines and ride)
- Hull brace so you can run duals eaily (noneed for the factory upright supports)
- Trim cable tube (not necessarily the stock trim cable...)
- Tubbies molded in the hull
- Front exhaust
- Custom gas tank so you can run a big pipe
- Steering trim piece
- Low profile hood to match steering
- Round nose instead of the sharp lines (just like that one Shin hull)
- Room for an 1100???
I am sure there are more but I am off ot buy my lottery ticket for tonight!
