What event had you busting out laughing when it might not have been appropriate yet?
My older and younger brother made a potatoe gun and were about to test it for the first time. It didn't fire due to them spraying too much hair spray into the chamber, but they thought there might not be spark. They unscrew the end cap (providing the necessary amount of oxygen for combustion), and then my older brother looks in and tells my younger brother to hiit the button while he watches for spark. The flames were probably still around his head as I fall down laughing my a$s off. It wasn't until my younger brother was asking in a very concerned voice, "Can you see? Are you able to see?" did I realize that laughing wasn't appropriate yet. He lost his eybroys, eyelashes, some hair and had a mild burn on his face, but his vision was ok and no permanent damage.

When I was about 12 I built my first potato gun, the guy at the hardware store had a huge scar on his side from one exploding. He recommended I use ABS for mine.

I do not recommend PVC pipe or ABS pipe for use in any Guns or Exhaust Systems. :tapedshut: :jester:
It has proven to be a very good product to distibrute water and turds, however (when installed properly, that is).

haha ive seen that big poof of flame before from a spud gun ( we have 3 ) luckily no hair loss here.
and axe deoderant spray seems to work better than hair spray, it doesnt make the insides all sticky and it smell nice. IMO

using flammable propellant is what makes them illegal.
I believe if you use compressed air to propel the spud - they are then legal.

SDR SCH 40 is really strong too. Big crapper pipe...
thats what we spec.
Sch 40 is the thin shiot you buy at Home Depot.
SDR 26 and thicker is what is spec'd for underground construction.
leave the specs to the engineers - and you just handle the drawing...OK monkey?

I use to have one that I painted all black and had a handle on it,looked like the real thing from 25ft away. One day I had just loaded it up with hairspray and was about to shoot a wadded up rag out of it. Well about that time I heard someone coming up my driveway,so I stood it in the corner of my shop and went out to see who it was. A few minuite later as I was talking to my older brother(who didn't know about the cannon) and had forgotten about the loaded cannon, all of the sudden my 6 year old son steps out and yells HEY and hit the trigger, my brother jumped backwards on to the hood of his car and looked like he had sh!t his pants.
I laught so hard I tought I was going to die.
