The real question is why did they have kimbo fight some washed up ufc schlub. Put him in the ring with a current ufc star and see how he fairs.

Tank may be considered a has been, but he has a lot more MMA experience than Kimbo ever will.

Kimbo is a punk streetfighter and Tank would have taken him down and ended it in under a minute. :nana:

Who the F is Kimbo? Name top fighters he has fought? Name top fighters he has beat? Are you guys forgetting Tank fought when they fought multiple fights a night? Ya Tank is old but he was fun to watch and has made a name for himself. Kimbo would be nobody without youtube just like the Brittany Spears homo.

Imagine that, Kimbo fights another no name fighter on youtube, his possee saves him twice, and he loses. All he does is swing for the fences, Shamrock proved that doesn't work anymore. What is it that makes him so great again?

Thank you for summarizing it :fing02: When Kimbo was asked "If you can choose any man to fight, who would it be?" His response- Mike Tyson. He picked a washed up has been. I thought Kimbo was entertaining on his you tube street brawls, he should have stayed there. (Honestly, at one point I thought it would be good for him to go legit, I'll admit I was wrong)

Exactly. Take any seasoned 'trained' fighter from any discipline and they would totally school Kimbo. Haymakers don't cut it in MMA.

A decent kick-boxer, jiu jitsu fighter, or any ranked boxer would take him apart and make him look totally inept in the ring.

i'm not sure i understand this love affair with kimbo. he's obviously tough and can take a punch and throw one but mma is a lot more than that. he doesnt seem to have exceptionally fast hands, i doubt he's ridiculously stronger than a similar sized guy.

is it just that he looks bad. is that the whole fascination? i just dont think he would fare too well with a skilled mma fighter.

i know i wouldnt have put any money on that fight either way cause it could go either way. the first guy to land cleanly probably wins the fight.

i do agree with your tebow man crush though! now he could take tank abbott...and kimbo.

Kimbo is one hard hitting dude and he doesn't miss. That is the last guy I would want head hunting me. Everyone in MMA is going to want to try to stand up against this guy instead of taking it to the ground. That is going to be their mistake. I wouldn't fight that guy even with head gear.

I agree. IMHO, he needs to beat one of these guys (in no particular order) to be considered legit:

Andrei Arlovski, Randy Couture, Mirko Cro Cop, Gabriel Gonzaga, Tim Silvia, Brandon Vera.

I was just going by the heavyweights.

Rampage Jackson, Tito Ortiz, Chuck Liddell and Wanderlei Silva could easily be added to that list if you included the light heavyweights.

Any of those guys would destroy Kimbo. Hell, if he had not grabbed Gannon's legs/ body he would have went down a couple times. One time Gannon even held Kimbo's hand so he wouldn't go down. Kimbo would have lost that fight within the first 90 seconds if they had been in the Octagon.

I'd like to see him fight Rampage. They have two very similar styles, aside from the fact that Rampage's ground skills are at least 10x what Kimbo's are.

Also you all are forgetting one thing.... who the ******** is Gannon? He's also an old washed up has been, that never really was somebody to begin with.

from the ufc, could still technically fight in a different org. and he's retired before.

he wanted fedor and fedor signed with some k-1 mixed venue.

i was hoping he would fight rampage and try to hold heavyweight and lt. heavyweight belts at the same time.
