So do you feel this was excessive or appropriate behavior by the cop for this circumstance?

he gave her way too many chances to comply.
should have tazed her if he had one. funny how that makes people comply with simple orders

curfew violation?
wtf is that other than an excuse to harass people?
BS!
Sucks that he had to hit her and spray her, but all she had to do was give him her other arm. I'd say it was necessary force. What is an officer supposed to do? Wrestle with her for 45 minutes until she gets tired? I don't think so.

I dont think the punch to the face was justified.
but macing and or tazing.. that is what she deserved..
What I do think is that alot of cops should be trying to bust drug dealers and thiefs and rapists instead of picking on the stupid offences...
Waste of time and money and stuff like this would never happen, we would be watching a criminal listed above getting maced and punch !
IMO !

100% Appropriate
He was calm, polite and even being VERY gentle. He gave her MANY chances to put her arm behind her back and all would have been well. She resisted and he stayed polite, then she BIT HIM......He sprayed her. She assaulted an officer and deserved it and he needed to do it. It was the easiest way to get her under control without doing damage to such a small woman.
I wonder what the rest of the video is like? She seems pretty intense and was freaking out over a simple order. She could have been drinking/smoking and was picked up.

Pete,
While every officer is out there busting criminals who is gonna keep the streets undercontrol? I dunno about you but I like it that I see a PD car just my neighborhood from time to time. It keeps things in check. We officers on traffic control, catch the DUIers, we need police cruising around checking out call/complaints and other general things.
Also, IMO the punch was completely justified. She bit his friggin arm....Your jaw can snatch a piece of meat off your arm no problem.
Also none of that ever had to happen....All the stupid ass had to do was comply from the start(before he had to try to restrain her with cuffs) and she would have been prolly just taken home. Thats what they always did to me and my friends when we were out too late out young ages

Did what he was supposed to do. He had bitten him prior, so she has already committed a felony battery on law enforcement. He did what he had to do.
Not at all..it doesn't matter if you think the law you are "breaking" is a small one or not you have to listen. How freaking hard is it to just stand there and do what you are told?!?!? You can't go around biting people...just doesn't work like that.
I love how it's always the cops out harassing people when they are the ones screwing up!
Note to people that don't want to be tazed and/or pepper sprayed: Do what they ask even if you think it's wrong. You can scream and b*tch all day long...not like they are going to say "my bad ...sorry". Not only to it save you some pain it's also hard to preach your case if you are running around like a mad woman and biting folks. :smashfreakB:

It's not the cops job to make the laws. They just enforce them.
That's a legislative issue, not a judicial.

yeah, but crack is illegal and they drive right past the crack dealer and houses.
round here they like to hassle you if you are goingmore than 8 mph over the spped limit or roll through a stop sign
real criminals may hurt them so they leave them alone!

You know there are just as many BS hoops to jump through before they can raid a house and all that. If a cop sees someone selling ******** here...the bust them. However they cant just grab some dude just because they think he is.

I believe she got away with what she did only because we was trying to be gentle as possible.

I also think that he was trying to keep her on the hood for the camera's purposes- to protect himself. If you watcht the vid, he eyes the camera once in a while and moves her from off the side to the middle of the hood. The problem with that, is she still had leverage and could still struggle. He could have controlled her quicker and more efficiently if he put her on the ground and used his leverage against her there, but then he wouldn't have the video to potentially exonerate him if a complaint was filed.

Stupid crackwhore got what she deserved. He was way too nice and then she bit him. They need to make something in a can like the mace that just puts you to sleep instantly to deal with retards like her.
