Just got off the phone, you can thank the local Ambulance Service, the over booked and cannot provide a rig to be onsite........... no racing without them..........

plus, he only has 2 pre-entries............... Guys, we all need to start sending our entry forms in sooner.............. If I was mike, and nobody had sent in any entry forms early enough, regardless of the Ambulance service, I would definately rethink my possition.........

well the pre entry is tough when the info is not out early. he just posted the hotel this week. i sent mine in on wednesday. i know of 20 people from s. flo who were going and had not sent in an entry yet.
look at parker they race next weekend and people still have not seen in the entry.

we are a bunch of slackers:biggrin:

Well, The race has been scheduled for several months now, agreed, hotel info needed to be posted earlier, but it is not hard to find out a good place to stay!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sure this race would have pulled in a ton of racers, more than normal...............

But, racers as a whole, need to respect our promoters and start sending our entries in a month in advance..........

Nobody is available........ Mike had this set up since February, sometime between now and then, the Amb. Service booked an airshow and scheduled out all 4 of their rigs (Extras that are not on regular duty) for this show.......... you can figure it out......... More Money to be taken from the air show........ so, they said "someone forgot about Surf & Turf, Sorry"

i agree with you, but how about this. i have pre planned all my races and pre booked my hotels. i also have to pre book someone to cover my office.

now i am out the 800.00 for the 2 days office coverage no refunds with less than 1 month notice. this has already happened to me once last year with mike.

i understand sheet happens but come on they only gave him 2 weeks notice when he booked it in febuary. he should be all over them.

i will let him use my truck as the ambulance if someone is an emt maybe we can still do it:wink:

how about lets spread the word to go ahead and get our entries mailed in, if they are not up on the site yet, just print out the Macon form, change the name!!!!!!! Done that many times.

Maybe we can e-mail or call to persuade them to live up to the agreement,

hmmmmmmmmm,,, Surf and Turf is paying lets guess about $2000.00 for 2 days..........

Air Show is paying lets see, $4000.00 for two days........... I doubt they would change their minds.........

i think it is too late now, the damage has been done. everyone has canceled there plans. it would be hard to get a good turn out now. we had over 25 boats at practice on sunday, they were all going to go to the race plus another 6 i knew of. i think it would have been a good turn out.

Macon Race will be rescheduled!
Due to a scheduling conflict with our EMS provider, lack of local support,
and the high cost of producing events, the Macon, Georgia, event will be
rescheduled for a later date on the tour. At the time of this decision there were only
two pre-entries. We at Surf and Turf Promotions apologize for any inconvenience.
The next stop on the tour will be in Myrtle Beach, SC, for the SunFun Festival on
June 3rd and 4th. If you have any questions, please contact Mike Young at (850) 376-

Dont know if you had seen this............ I talked to mike a few minutes ago (forgot to ask him about rolling your entry forms) He did say that about 10 racers have called and said that because of Macon being cancelled, that they can afford to come to Myrtle Beach now.......... Makes sence, plus I know of 6 racers heading to Parker this weekend........ so, may be for the best, but it does suck for you and others that it costing you money even though you not going to the races.......... David Morgan is one of the guys going to Parker............ You owe me a beer, He called me a few weeks ago asking if he should get your SXR or find another one. I told him he could not go wrong with yours!!!!

damn now i owe you too:biggrin: tj claims he sold the boat to dave. no matter i would be my honored to buy you a beer at SC and LkN.. i wish i would have met dave, but when they picked up the boat i was over here working. he seems like a super nice guy, i wish him luck out there.

it will free up some money to race thats for sure, i just hate having a month off of no racing. irwins have palatka the weekend before myrtle bch. but it will only give me 3 days of work before i head out to SC, then 2 weeks later to NC. the problem this year is not the entry fees but all the gas costs. it was only going to cost 220.00 to race macon if i got a hotel by myself. but add in gas it was now going to be 720.00 roundtrip.

i want to go back to pro-am status atleast then i have a chance of making my entrys back.
i think it's pretty funny that we are the only mod class and we have been put back novice level.

anyway i will see you in SC, my folks and family will be at this race as well.
