the little digital gizmo reads about 18.9-19.0mpg going steady 80 on the cruise control on the hiway. it reads about 21mpg with the cruise control on 55mph

its the city driving that i average about 14mpg in... 8-10mpg if youre being "that guy"

mine is an '06.. they came with the 3/36.. so they threw in the 8/80 on top of it.. so i actually have 2 warranties right now

i had a truck i couldnt give a rats ass about for 4 years.. i was over it... i'll tell you what, that was the best way to buy a truck. when i bought my nissan i just wanted the cheapest, v6, long bed, 4 dr truck i could find.. i didnt care about the color, options, etc. thats how i ended up with the nissan. i got a good deal on both trucks. lets see how long i keep this POS.

edit: my truck has that weird MDS thing that drops it down from 8 cyls to 4 cyls.. i'm still trying to figure that out.

the 3/36 is bumper to bumper the 8/80 is the powertrain.....

SuperJETT
10-02-2007, 09:54 PM
MDS is a cool feature, both in how it works and the increase in mpg. You won't even notice it's happening.

Of all of our trucks/SUVs, my dads full sized gets the best milage. That new technology and oversized engine goes a long way with efficency. People say the big engines in trucks are a waste, but what is a real waste is an underpowered engine. Big engines never have to work hard.

20's look sexie but I would stick with 18's. Lowering a truck and putting big rims on it just doesn't make sense to me. The bigger the rim, the smaller the tire and the less travel. I am too rough on trucks to have a sidewall only 3" tall.

not a truck guy, but lowering a truck is less ghey than jacking it so high you need a ladder to get in. I don't want to have to worry about flipping my damn ride doing a turn. My camaro is about 4" off the ground w/ a tight ass suspension. It will turn like crazy, but sucks if the road isn't smooth, or a speedbump. At least I don't have to worry about getting a ticket for my bumpers being too high. Lower > overly high and stock height is always gay.

Tread jack alart........

I have a buddy that switched his f-250 diesel to run on veg oil. He has a list of like 30 chinese restraunts that he pics up oil from. First he strains it through a t-shirt and then he has this other filter type thing that cleans it up. He came from Myrtle Beach to meet me in Orlando and claimed he only used 13 gallons of oil (free).
