It was a good time, a little more laidback than years past.

The lady on the sitdown was videotaping us. She was there last year also, and even checked out x-h2o and remembered my ski from the site. Her son (I assume) had never tried a standup, so we got him on jetskee's which has a stock engine (for now) and he did very well for his first time. I seriously think he wants to get rid of his XPL and get a standup now, but his mom was joking and saying NO WAY unless he paid for it. Very nice people.

It was a great time as always. Beautiful Weather, Warm Water and a couple boats making big a$z wakes for us to jump! Partyboy tried a big Backie and bit it hard. :approve: Jen's kids got to swim one last time this year and cruise around on the SeaCouch.

Thanks to Chuck (CG Racing) for bringin over my Gas and the Cooler on the Pontoon Party Boat.
Thanks to KingNothing for keeping FSF alive!!! Its a great end of the season ride.

:thinking:What was up with the Fuzz?? Did that kid get a ticket or what?

I had an excellent time!! thanks everyone for keeping it safe. I thought it was a little more laid back than other years as well but I think that has to do with how nice the weather was so everyone wasnt constantly in the water to keep warm.

good seeing everyone again, we will have to get together a few times next summer. I will be looking into a new place to launch that will be directly into the hothole so that there wont be the long cold ride back to the marina. Heard alot about this other place, just need to investigate.

to everyone that did not get a shirt, sorry I knew noone had $ on them at the hothole so I left them at the marina, sold what I could. If you want a shirt send me a pm with your name, address, and size and I will ship them out as soon as I can. same with everyone from ipperwash.

the 5-0 must have felt it was there duty to make an apperence because there was one ticket issued. still very glad we didnt get a ticket when we flew into the hothole in the cigarette boat! That was a bad ass ride and I would like to thank everyone that hooked me up with that. best suprise ever when I foundout that was my ride to the hothole!!!

I Had a blast! thanks everyone.

Dude, the seaweed was even worse this year, a HUGE area of it, further out than I've ever seen. Made for a nice salad with a little ranch dressing on top though.:lmao:

I do have to say.. if you did not get it in your pump, it was a blast, weaving, hoping, it was like a mine field... :thewave:
But man, if you sucked that crap up... oooofff.. you we pulling it out
in the cold for a while...

I remember going back in forth, do you go out and around, or cut thu the field... Either way that crap is fun as hell to dodge ! :bigok:

Its the little stuff like that, you miss !

Yes, it WAS suicide going through the weed monster. After putting a hole in my hull I decided to try to ride it back via the most direct route. BAD IDEA. Thanks to Steve802 for pulling my sunken ski back to the launch.

I had a great time.

I really need to thank Mark of 24/7. He let me ride his 60 LBS hull / 10MM Lamey Stroker ski moments after he showed up there. That thing was just pure stupid! lol

However, I broke the steering cable about 5 minutes into the ride :( Luckily (kinda), someone had a break down and he was able to snag there steering cable for the remander of the day.

Chad then took the 'ski and attempted some NICE flatwater backflips!

And thanks again to Chad for some help on my 'rolls! Advice greatly appreciated!

Ok on a serious note....did anyone ride outside of the hothole? Lake erie usually puts out some pretty decent waves because we have a practice course just outside of the hothole running along the beach by the powerlines. Was it rough out?

No problem Kurt. Can't leave a rider in need sitting there. I ended up missing my hockey game which was likely a good thing. I already had way to many sore muscles from skiing.

I thought it was fairly smooth, jetskee and I went and hit some waves for a bit until my engine pisser blocked off and blew a line off the head. Every once in a while you could catch a 2 foot roller, I got a few rolls off them.

Yes, and Yes. It was a blast. Thanks to Jamie for putting things together. The shirts are awesome. Thanks for letting Mark and i crash at your place. A few rounds of beer pong and ten beers put us in no condition to drive. YOu have a sweet house/barn mang. Your friend aint half bad either...

That seaweed was hell. I followed two people out there, we thought we went out far enough to avoid the floating black blob. But no, me and this blast got all clogged up. It was fun to dodge though. The water was cold, but not as cold as i am used to riding on the westside (port sheldon). By the time we got to the hothole, i was taking off my wetsuit.

Thanks to those who pulled my ass back in after ingesting, and after blowing a cooling line from the pump...we were in about 6 inches of water when i hit something and flew off the ski...skidding sidways down into the muck. At least i got pulled in by another sn! Nice paint job man.

And thanks to DJkorn who pulled me in too when i ingested water. thanks for taking a break from the kids...they looked like they were having such a good time.

I can't forget to mention Tony, the guy who came out with the pontoon. YOu kept my beers cold all day (what a nuisance i can be going into your cooler every 20 minutes) fed me and a few other riders. You even hooked it up with a few cold ones for the long drive home. You rock:brap:

Thanks to those who made a wake for us to jump. Party boy's backflip attempts were huge!!

Chuck...your boat rips, thanks for letting me take it for a rip. Hope the swelling goes down soon so you can fit into your shoes again.

I had a great time...I didn't know how it would be going solo...but you guys are like one tight family...thanks everyone for making this event what it is. I am so stoked to Daytona:outtahere:

zip them up and send to superjett@gmail.com if you need to. Also, if you have a high megapixel camera, you may need to resize before uploading as the filesizes nowadays are beyond the PHP upload limit, not the vbulletin limit.

Jen and her kids sucked up seaweed too! We were about 1/3 of a mile out too and the water was still only 2 feet deep. That side of Lake Erie is SHALLOW!!!!! It is wayyy deeper on the east side of the islands.

Yeah the seaweed was fun to dodge. I ventured back in the cove with some other guys and realized it was only 2-3 ft deep if that. I looked over and saw this dude standing next to his ski. oofff He tried to get it running and the pisser seemed clogged. needless to say he got a tow back to the beach. upon inspection it turned out to be a hose. thank gosh. Had a great time.
Good to see everyone again.

People left the hothole very early this year compared to years past. I wasn't happy with it, but it was hard to tell who was riding/who wasn't as several people rode out on boats this year with coolers.

One guy rode without a vest once that I saw, but later on I saw he had his vest/helmet on.

It's just sad. jetskee/myself/freestylegeek were kind of the founders of FSF, and this year it was quite different than it used to be. It used to be about learning new tricks, pushing each other, etc. Some people are taking it to be a big party now. To each their own, I'm not sure I'm planning on going back.

If you drink/ride, do it elsewhere, not at a freeride.

I did have fun, just not like in years past.

the partying should be reserved for the evening...
nothing wrong w/ a drink during the day, but these events
should be designed around riding and advancing the
freeride spirit, not getting drunk... W/ that said the party
is a big part of it, but it should not take away from the
riding but rather be a icing and a celebration of the riding
during the day...

I had a good time.

I may be getting old or something, but I wasn't too pleased with the
drinking and riding without lifejackets that was going on. Just gives
the cops something to get on our backs about.

I like to drink it up with the best of them when I get the chance, but
there's a time and place for it, and a busy lake with 40+ skis ain't it.
Now, I can't say for SURE anyone was riding impaired, but I suspect
some were.

Just glad we made it through year #7 without any injuries.

I agree 100%. You want to drink, do it somewhere else or don't plan on riding a jetski. You wouldn't drink and drive a car(I would hope not at least), why risk drinking riding on the water and potentially hurting others and/or getting caught by the sheriffs for a dui?

Did anyone notice we had a crap load of boats this year compared to years past? Now I dont mind a few boats there, but it was getting ridiculous having to move our skis down all the time and I decided to just stay where I was so no more boats would park.

And its not like most of these boats made wake for us to jump, but all they did was take up our spots on the beach and drink.

Its freestylefest, not boatfest dammit. Make waves for us or get out!!!!!!!!

Wow guys. From what I'm reading..., between the seaweeds, lack of access, bring your own gas to the location on your ski, the fact that it could be turning in another 'Jobbie Boat Party', the above issue :trink26:, etc, etc..., I'm glad I was just able to make it to Ipperwash only, and not Monroe. I enjoyed Ipperwash very much, besides the lack of waves in the afternoon, which no one could control. My suggestion would be find another spot or just stick to Ipper only, maybe one FSF early in the season and then another in Sept at Ipperwash. :thinkerg:

the boaters were mostly a group of off-shore racers. I figured they weren't going to get bent out of shape over noise and such so better to just make room than get in a fight about it.

Yeah, the boats taking over was a drag. When they started to ask about 8 guys to move their skis WAY over so they could park we'd had it with them. I didn't ask they guy at Kroger to move his car so I could park by the door, did I??

man we had about 1/2 km of beach all to ourselves, at ipperwash, drive on beach, bbq's a blazing, music a pumpin, coolers with refreshments, maybe the hothole should be rethought.

Some of the boaters were dicks. They had that (I spent $80000 on my boat so I am more important attitude) They told Jen's kids to swim somewhere else so they could park their boats where they wanted. (right in the middle). I wish she would have told me earlier...
Usually there aren't that many boats... the weather was just so unusually warm for that time of year.
