Weighed the SJ yesterday and it was 350 lbs. with 4.5 gallons of fuel sitting on an AC stand. Just weighed the AC stand and it's 9 lbs. 4.5 gal = 36 lbs.
So I'm sitting about 305 lbs dry. The ski is reinforced with fiberglass and carbon fiber.

I'd like to ride a lightweight hull with similar power to mine.

What kind of power do you have? I think it is a bunch if I can remember right but there are tons of skis on here. I know that a light weight ski is the shiznit. I have been riding Louies ski and it rocks. If I could get rid of something I would be all over a light weight.... I still might be as soon as Trinity gets out there.

Mine motor and Louies motors are about 8 cc's apart and there is a REAL BIG difference.

Come up to the Rend ride (http://www.x-h2o.com/showthread.php?t=23501) and I am pretty sure Lou would let you ride his ski..... If you proved worthy with him holding a blank check of yours... :biggthumpup:

Oh yea....Lou's ski is VERY NICE! He said I could take it for a ride in Altoona........just didn't get the chance before he left. I'm really wanting to ride a more affordable lightweight hull. Like a X-Jet, WF, Wammer, or Legdrag hull. Something along those lines. Don't have 10 G's to drop on a hull. Hell......I don't have anything to drop yet. Got to sell some shiot.

I think WF is about the same weight as a solid reinforced XFT. Lou's hit the bathroom scale at 250 ish complete. Fl-cracker weighs in around that with a reinforced stock hull.

I want a light weight like 175 complete.... maybe I will seal and fill the tray area with helium....LOL

thats crazy!! i think jeff tried to make a ski as light as he could and he came out with prepreg rev (not the production ones, but special built one for that reason) and it was like 240 with a 5mm lamey and i rode that thing and it was just freakin crazy! something like that being so light would have to be strictly competition :biggthumpup:

SuperJet running gear: 8mm P/V Lamey, TNT chamber, Total Loss, OEM pump w/ TBM cone.

299.5 lbs, bone dry - not a drop of fuel in her...

Not bad for such a big hull, but still not as light as I had hoped for. I will be cutting the hull shorter this winter and trimming the bondline down about 1/4" so that might shave a few pounds...

EDIT: this includes the weight of the battery, JET WORKS KB-35 for the total loss

I brought that hull home from Altoona. I hated taking it out of my trailer. I wanted it BAD!

My XFT "surf version" Free-X weighs in at 290lbs. with No battery and No fuel and my 98' OEM SJ reinforced with carbon and kevlar by Marios(24/7) weighs in at 305 also with No battery and No fuel...I am a flat water only rider and I ride friggin hard, my XFT ski is a surf version that is very-very well built but having said that, I know if I owned one of these 60lb dream hulls I would absolutely grenade it in one summer..I really believe there is no grail when it comes to hulls..less weight is simply less or lighter material that ultimately has les strenght.......................................... .....

Yep.......I can see Bronson is rubbing off on you. Every little bit helps. I've been thinking about getting rid of my rear exhaust, and getting a lighter battery too.
I was concerned about the smaller front outlet size of the exhaust.
Did you have to make your front outlet bigger, or is it all good to go? Could you tell any difference in performance?

I've been thinking about taking my rear exhaust out, but my regular riding spots will not stomach that noise. It's f'n loud enough already with front/rear exhaust and XMW waterbox.

I am considering ditching the metal exhaust tube for a lighter fiberglass tube.

I had a smaller exhaust in there and I thought it was goning to give me problems, but not sure if it did or would (had motor issuses at the time)
