You are there on the roll, but you need to keep that pole down and keep the rotation going.

Hey matt.... you need to prehop to the right and turn your bars all the way to the right....looks like you re going to fast into the wake...

Looks like snackem needs a bigger bucket. That can't be comfortable.
The superjet sounds nice and clean Matt. Are you running front exhaust?

Nope, no limiter. :beerchug:
The boat must be running good now.
Actually, I sort of cold-seized one jug at Twin Lakes. Compression is 30psi lower on that side.
Still runs great.
I'll change topends when I get the big bore....probably not before Westport.
youre too much on a plane going into the wake. get the pump lower in the water before you go for your BR. youre almost there.
Thanks...this sort of advice (and everyone's here!) is exactly what I am looking for. Nothing like having other folks look and critique your riding.
Okay, about the boat....
It's my pa-in-laws boat that he bought 3 years ago I think. Some random 16ft or 17ft boat with a Volvo 2.2l/120HP inboard/outboard.
He's been fighting gremlins for a while. He paid a few hundred bucks for general tune-up and repair this summer. Then when he tried to run it, it wouldn't start because of a faulty gear-shift interlock switch.
He tried fixing it, but couldn't. He was so frustrated that he wanted to sink it (honestly). He then offered it to me or Phill for free (We's bro-in-laws). I was more drunk than Phill, so I said yes.
It took me a grand total of 15 minutes to put the battery on the charger and bypass the interlock.
I've told my father in law numerous times that I can just fix it for him and give it back to him.
That option is still very much open and being discussed. I am not sure I want a boat.

Keep the boat. Throw a couple hundred gallon fat sack in the thing, prop it for low end, and just plow that thing down the Snake all day. Backies to follow.
Nice vids and pics by the way. I've personally gotten very good at that last trick.

BOAT = Break Out Another Thousand
werd.
Nice job Matt. Looks like you're almost there. Wish I could offer up some advice, but I was almost to where you are when I sold my sj. I would only get about half way around.
In my opinion learning them off a boat wake like ya'll are doing is the best way. It's a consistent never ending wake and you don't have to worry about landing on your head in shallow water like you do in the surf.
by the way you trying to be the next Joe Kenny or something. no riding shoes?:biggrin::headbang:

A boat to generate wake is sorely needed at that spot. Very little boat traffic.
Just stationary fishermen shaking fists.

I've gotten to really like riding barefoot provided the water ain't too cold. (Water was 66 Degrees yesterday)
Plus, it can be such pain to put wrestling shoes on. :bigok:

I got one. Forgot to bring it.
It's always on in the surf. Usually on flat, too.

I can definitely understand riding barefoot when you ride mainly in the straps, but if you're mainly in the footholds I'd prefer to have shoes on.

Is that on a fresh water lake?
Matt_E
09-14-2007, 12:13 PM
Fresh water river.
But since both the upstream and downstream dams have stopped spilling for the fall (turbines are still putting out water), it's essentially a long lake.

woaaa barefoot wow that must be rough...as for the roll i am at the same place you are...landing on my head
i believe all ya need to do is get low enough...and start the rotation early by trying to look under the ski..i thikn it pulls your feet around and keeps rotation flowing
spence

nice sounding ski that place is just awsome to
Looking good, today we were out following cruizer's near Jetty Island (me, Riley, Gasgas, JeffP, Rescuetravis, Jason Smith), and Jason pulled a sweet 7/8 roll with great height. I almost got my stab down, but its hard to commit with no fooholds.......... arg.
