we had a great time... no riding pics, but fun was had by all and the waves were in the waist high range w/ som bigger ones rolling in....

Started on my quest to learn the no handed barrel roll... it was a rocky start, but I will get it... I just can't seem to get back to the bars.... the ski just fly's away from me... I need to lean forward more, I guess

a few shots....

Not having any riding pics is made up for by the hot chick pics:cool2:

With the nohander, you do need to be leaning forward...that also helps keep the nose down a little more. I lost one on Saturday casue I was just too far back and could not get back to the bars. After watching some of mine on video, Jerry was giving me **** for getting back to the bars too early. I would let go just after leaving the top of the wave, and put my hands back on by the time I was upside down. So I'm trying to leave the hands off longer, and what I'm finding is that as I get past upside down, I tend to extend and lean back to slow the rotation and be sure I land good and tail first so it's softer. And that ****s me all up when my hands are off the bars...

Guess we just need to man up Nick, and start throwing the no hander landers like Pancaker:Banane01:

Good Advice Ross. Super lean foward and sometimes even let pole rest down by hood or by waist, then you wont be looking, you can look else
where and just no you let pole drop some when you left the wave.
I am so stoked to hear that you are going for them. dude you will have
them no prob. you got mad skills bro. I would love to set up next
time we are all together and get 3/4 of us rippin them... cool stuff.
Daytona was first time on that wammer boat (and last) so I was
a little off my game too.

Dude, I am so jelous you are in shorts, and short sleves....
Freakin winter... !@#$%@#$%!&%!^*&^&*@%$!$$$%.

I wish I had been back in Fl. in time for the ride.Ill be back in jacksonville the 6th ready to ride. I was back home in VA trying to roll Beachjunkies SJ without a shortened pole,it just wasnt happening.I feel very uncomfortable riding both feet in the back wells, I ride right foot forward and feel I will need a strap up there to make the roll on my boat, the pole is a xmetal and is plenty short.anyone else roll or backy with one foot in the well, other foot forward in a strap?

Rockin' weekend everyone....

the screen door is back in place and is 100% functional (or, at least as functional as it was before this weekend :Banane01: )

andy pulled one stab that looked to me like it was about 350 degrees rotation.......bout the closest thing to a BR that I have seen him do..

i NEED a front strap, I just couldnt keep my rear foot glued to the tray and am paying the price for it today....have a bruise from my knee to my hip from the bars..

noone even mentioned the popo showing up???????? Yesterday I went out to tinker in the garage and felt like all the neighbors were staring out the windows at me..... its not like the music was THAT loud :1244: , or maybve it was the constant :woot: :woot: from all the gambling going on???

these are about the only publishable pics I have....

Sorry about that door. :pat:
Thge music was so loud it must have been affecting my vision....
Guys- don't forget my BR attempts. I know they may have been hard to spot because they resembled some type of ballet move.
IDOK- thanks for the hospitality, your welcome at my place anytime. Feel free to break something.:headbang:

Butti- I just read about the fries. God were they terrible. Did you see how our wives were trying to pass it off like they got them for us. What really happened was they knew they sucked, didn't eat them, then brought them to us for a snack three hours later. WTF! :bs2:
At least they look good!:woot: :woot:

WAB- This will only be my third post.
That landing did hurt a little. Took the pole to the chest. The other attempts turned into flat landing nosestabs. Not good at all.
I swear I was doing everything Nick told me. Lean forward, turn the bars @ the top of the wave and use my head to start the rotation.
I guess that's why everyone is not doing them.

I've been trying to ride the superjet for the most part. I would like to get good on it. I haven't had it long.

You looked OK that day I saw you. Hang in there.

If you can, get a ride on Nick's ski. The shorter pole/faster steering seem like they would make a big diff.:Banane01:

Robert, sounds like I have that in common with you,the blaster is my main ride, but I just also bought a SJ 2 days before the daytona meet,Im trying to learn rolls also,Im gonna give a front strap a shot and see how that works out,I dont feel comfortable riding both feet in the wells either.

yamaslut
02-01-2006, 10:16 AM
I went through the same thing guys... I went from the blaster to the sj and that was pretty rough... I was doing all the tricks on a B1 except backflips and rolls and had to start over again learning something a lot harder... that's why I was so intent on learning and progressing when i first started to ride... I wanted to get on my blaster so bad sometimes because it was easier and I was more use to it, but I stuck it out and it was well worth it IMO

Yea slut,Im pretty convinced there is a progression from couches to blasters to superjets for any real surf riding addict,it just depends on how old and crusty ya are by the time ya figure out the superjet is really where ya need to be in the pinnacle of the sport. Im 30 something and some of the the other junkies are much more crusty than that.will they ever make it hmmm? lol.
I didnt have my SJ here with me back in Va,but I gotta admit it sure was nice and easy to get back on it and rip it the other day. It will be back to practice time as soon as I get back to the SJ in Fl.
