Don't take it personal.....Eric is a good guy. He's been out of the country a lot this year and he recieves tons of e-mails. Approach him at an event and I think you'll feel different. He's down to earth.

What I didn't mention was that I had just moved to the town he lives at not knowing anyone at all. So I sent a message via his website, no reply. Then a moderator on PWCToday posted up how she was emailed by Eric and how he wasn't competing because of his wrist. I PM's her asking her to email Eric basically just what I said earlier. I wanted to go for a ride if he was able to or just meet up to check out his skis and shoot BS about skis. I had a lot of questions about different parts combinations or mods I wanted to ask. I don't want to spend any money on stuff that doesn't work. Sure these threads are full of info but not everyone on here is a multi time world champion. I never got a reply. Seemed kind of "I am better than you" type of deal to me considering I never got anything back at all. A simply email saying hi, I am too busy would have been better than nothing. This is especially after everyone around town boast what a great guy he is. If he was to get ahold of me now, too bad, the seed has already been sown. I am a busy person too, just wanted atleast an email back.

Remonds me of a time when I was a lot younger at an MX race. We had asled McGrath for an autograph and he acted liek he had never heard us. So we asked Doug Henry. This is back when they were both racing for Honda. Back in the days when all the pro teams had box vans and not semi's. Well it was pouringthe rain down. What did Doug do? Grab an umbrella and signed autographs for not only my friends and I but for everyone standing there at the fence. He signed so many his sharpie run out and he got another one! To me, that is the extra mile and a TRUE champion. I guess not everyone can live up to greatness...

Malone signed autographs for me before I ever had a jet ski and was just watching, sent me home with extra posters and stuff aswel. Talked with him over an hour in Daytona about his competing, my competeing, jet skiing. He lets random people he knows from nothing ride his competition boat after his run. He's been cool to me so far. Even was in daytona hanging out riding the surf and in the parkinglot later.

when you receive no telling how many emails a day from fans and other jet skiers its hard to reply back.

As far as your motor questions, why not do the thing we all do....read forums or ....new idea:thinkerg: call a motor builder and ask what ya need and order it

You are pissed because a prof. in a sport is to busy to e-mail back or "hangout" with you? I don't want to discredit shows/comps but I know ski`n isn't as big as auto or other racing but still come-on you know how much he'd get done if he answered every e-mail and hung-out with every fan, nada.

I would give the guy another chance and not judge him on the fact that he has a life beside competitions and shows, and that he may just be to busy to hangout with a stranger to sign autographs and ride.

Again, wanting to pick the brain of a pro that has his own business selling skis, parts, serivce... again probably another turn-off to talk to you, you want free-advice on what to do and buy. I think you are just asking to be ignored with all you WANT from him.

IMHO you are asking TO MUCH from someone you have never met and don't know and judging him on it is stupid.

EDIT: If you had just e-mailed for an autograph that prob. would have been fine and replied too, or just emailed and ask for a ride that probably would have been fine to but you coupled like 5 things in one e-mail you wanted a 'celebrity' in your eyes to do for/with you... not the best approach.

I think they all are amazing. The power they use is massive. But the skiis are purpose built. Being a rec rider it is all way over the top. And I use all the vids and pics to keep the fever going when I can not ride. Nice video on the tube.
