Awww, I wanted toggle boot. =(
It looks kind of funny with no cover on it, but it's metalic, so I'll just tell people it's custom chrome!
My favorite part about this switch was that it came with 2 spare screws to mount the wires too. Very handy when you drop one of those little tiny screws in the bottom of the ski and just hit "Tink, tank, tonk" as it rolls arround and then falls into the void in your jet ski that leads to another plane of existance, for that screw to never be found again.

Thanks for the review and the free bump. These are the same ones I sold previously here, but this time I figured I'd throw in the rubber boot so everyone has a complete assembly and to save everyone a trip to the hardware store.

This is real tempting. My cheap toggle unit has not gone out yet. But it sometimes takes a couple of flips of the switch to get it going.
What kind of connections are needed for wiring the switch?
SXIPro
09-09-2007, 01:09 PM
A couple small ring lugs, or spade connectors. I prefer #6 ring lugs myself.
My old switch which was not the waterproof version eventually started just turning my bilge pump on at random times even while it was in the off position. Real battery killer when it turns on in the evening and runs non-stop until you hear it groaning the next day. :frown:

What's the life expectancy of these switches in salt ?
I tried several types already and they never lasted too long. I just gave up and if I use my bilge pumps I plug in a fuse.

I don't ride salt water often. This is however the same switch that JSS sells(besides the length of the bat), and people that ride salt and fresh rave about it.
The bat is elastomer sealed, the terminals are internally sealed. If I were to ride salt a lot, I would probably give the connections a blast of CRC or Fluid Film as an added salt water deterent, as I would to everything else under my hood.

If you wire it so that you are switching the ground you will not have problems with corrosion at the switch lugs. If you use tinned terminals and coat them with some dielectric grease or some of the things mentioned before you will have no problems. I always solder the lugs to prevent water wicking back into the conductor. I have had them last for years without any maintenance.
