Jeff Jacobs was the best at the log jump, he wouldn't even slow down hardly, just bunny hopped right before it, barely touched, and kept on going. 'jumping' it is the wrong way to look at it.

You can't expect a hull to crack during the actual event.

Looks like a "lets log jump our HS 100 times so we can try to get out cracked hull warranteed" session.

IMO: This is a perfect example of how not to log jump. Too much energy and time wasted in the air. A proper log jump begins before the actual log jump.

how fast you think theyre hitting the jump. I like hs they look pretty sweet

where are the BRs on that thing?

That hull looks like it has a tough time landing. The first few times the guys were hitting the water and falling right off. It just doesn't look natural in the air... I am the only one who gets that vibe?

I know what your talking about...it seems they don't know what to do once they hit the water....psh racers

thats the slowest way you could possibly hit that thing

AMEN. I was thinking those same things. We NEVER used to just bash the jump. :Banane35:

Ghey. The fact that they made a video of this, thinking it was cool is just ghey. Not to mention yes they should just be manualing over the thing anyway. The track looks like it's layed out in a man made pond, pretty cool.

tough crowd... :puppy_dog_eyes:

anyway, I think they were just doing it for fun.... trying to pop off it.
I'm sure those guys know how to hit a log jump properly...

I was thinking it might be a test for HS to see if the hulls would break in log jumps?????? Otherwise I think they would have gotten board long before that. The one dude actually tried a stab over the it though so maybe he was board. They sound cool sometimes and not so cool other times.

What is the basic concept of a log jump? is that just that black "ringed" construction pipe attached to bouys?

Glory_Freestyle

It's just an obstacle on a race course. The log jump is made of ATV tires that are put on a section of PVC/ABC pipe. In a race, the object is to jump it. Usually it is only used in Expert and Pro races, Novice and Beginner riders go around it.

the guy i talked to about his said it was 400lbs+, he had a chip for his and he also was running a bag of ice on his intercooler or heat exchanger or something. not sure about top speed but after the first corner along the back straight he started pulling away from the group and they never caught up.

400+ lbs man thats a tank why are they so heavy? Bcuz there for racing are they heavy to go through chop easier?

4-stroke motor that is big, complex, and turbocharged. more electronics too, you can hookup a laptop to it. nice race machine from what i seen up close and on the course. there was an octane that pulled the holeshot but like i said that was only to the first buoy then the hydrospace took over. cool ski just not something i would want. i would have like to try it out if the guy offered.

aww sweet there turbos? and 4 stroke didnt know that. What is the point of hooking up a labtop? To do like a anaylisis of it?

D-Roc
09-03-2007, 08:32 PM
yeah i think it is for engine management and it may have lap records of engine temps, rpms, exhaust gases etc, etc. pretty cool stuff.

yeah that is pretty dang high tech no wonder the price tag aint it like 7 grand?

if your racing, you need one.

having a laptop hookup would be awesome. same concept as with performance cars. you can hook up a laptop up to your car and see what psi you were at at whatever rpm you want, change fuel timing, injector pulse, all kinds of cool stuff. we have a guy here in boise who is incredibly good at tuning, he does talons and evo's but if i had the money for a HS i might just give it to him to tune. lol.

here's a vid of his talon. this is his 2006 setup, at the end there is a preview of what he ran all this year. the dyno section of the vid is a FWD dyno only, the talons can be easily be converted from AWD to FWD and this car is nuts, putting out over 600 AWHP. ok, enough talk, here's the vid.
