It is with disappointment that I am leaving negative feed back about Kurt Wolff, user name = kurtwolff

9 weeks ago I purchased some used parts off Kurt to the total of $270, I also sent him 3 things I brought off e-bay as he was kind enough to say he could send them all together to save me some money on freight. The parts I sent to Kurt from e-bay cost me $52 + freight, I also gave Kurt the Wamilton DVD for doing all this for me.

5 weeks ago I managed to get hold of Kurt, his seems to only randomly receive/answer my messages, I confirmed to box every thing up and give me a freight cost.

3 weeks ago I received another message for Kurt after I said I really needed my parts and he said he would weigh the box tomorrow and get a quote on USPS.com

I have not heard back from him again.

I tried to get a refund through Paypal but it has been longer that 45 day so I'm out of luck.

I am out of pocket over $320. My ski is apart and has not been going all this time and I am now going through the process of sourcing my needed parts else where.

I am sure others have had good service from Kurt, but unfortunately I am not one of them.

Dean.

Dean - I am truly sorry for the troubles, I have had so much going on that I forgot all about the box I had aside in my shop - I have it 100% ready to go for you and I will make it right, I even put some extra parts in for you. It is absolutely my fault, you have been one of the best buyers I have had and I am sorry that I dropped the ball. -Kurt

Yup, I know Kurt to be a busy guy trying to balance school and other responsibilities so when I saw the tread, I was curious because I know him to be a good guy who I have worked with in the past.

Kurt, way to step up and make things right for the guy. Kudos!

Well I did receive the parts but unfortunately everything is not cool, 10 days ago I sent the following message to Kurt but no reply so I thought I would re-post it here.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Kurt,

I received my parts this week, thank you.

The carb looks good, and so do the heads, and thanks for the coupler.

Unfortunately the cylinder has a chip out of one port and some ugly chunks out of another port.

http://i16.tinypic.com/4thrmup.jpg

The description when you advertised it was:
(1) 62T 701 cylinder - .5 mm overbore, probably would be OK with a hone

I personally would not be happy running this cylinder....... at least with out re-sleeving it which is more that what the cylinder is probably worth........ what do you think ?

Dean.

That doesn't look too good. It could possibly be cleaned up with a dremel, but that doesn't sound like it was part of the negotiation.

If you "clean that up with a dremel" you'll need to match the other 3 main transfers as well.

personnally I like threads like these since what I have seen here so far I would NOT hessitate to buy from Kurt,

He pays attention to the boards,
He appologized and sound like is trying to make right,
PLUS in the process of one negative thread there is couple positive WHICH would probably be not posted otherwise as some people prefer to ride mode and type less.

I agree with you 100%. That is why I think the negative feedback section is good, because it gives sellers a chance to turn a negative into a positive.

You can really see who genuinely wants to make things right....and you also see the a$$holes who just argue it to death which does not get anyone anywhere.

Well 10 days ago I sent Kurt the following message as he wanted to know what I would like to do to sort this out, but no reply, so as posting here seems to be the only way to get noticed I'll try again, and for the books, trying to get hold of Kurt to sort this out has been nothing but a BIG PAIN IN THE ASS.

Well I do not want to use it, and it's not worth re-sleeving, it's almost worthless to sell on to someone else I would think.

But the worst part is it cost $90 just to ship a cylinder over here, and probably more to sent it back.

So bottom line is I have a cylinder I can not use or sell that owes me $220.

It's not you fault it cost so much to ship, but on the other hand if you had looked inside the cylinder just a little closer you probably would have not sent it....

I guess if I got most of my money back on the cylinder, say $100 and 1/2 of the money back on the cylinder freight, $45, then I'm out $75, and you are out $45 plus what ever the cylinder owes you..........

Neither of us are going to be happy losing money, but so far I do not see another way out.

What do you think ?

Dean.

Had to check my PM's on this-
Almost a year ago called dibs on a 6m6 cylinder from him.
I wanted to pay and ship but he wanted to give it a hone,
wow, very cool,
Never heard anything else, no answer to multiple PM

Really wanted that cylinder
Had to go to therapy

deanz you should be commended for keeping this professional. the seller has seemed pretty cool and level headed as well and seems genuine in his desire to make things right, but you are out money and time and i think you've shown great restraint. hope ya'll can come to an amicable solution.

these threads are alot more productive w/o all the f-bombs and threats and insults. thanks to both of you.

Just so everyone knows, I got 1/2 my money back on the cylinder and 1/2 my money back on the freight, not quite as much as I would have liked, but better than a kick in the nuts........

It's coming into summer here and I've had my ski running for a couple of weeks now.............. life is sweeeeeeet :veryhappy:
