This trick can get you into trouble and piss off anyone close by..
Spray/Squirt in the tray..

To do this with great effectiveness its good to just look at the pump on the trailer to see what the nozzle is doing when turning and understand whats going on.. Now that you see that to turn either way the nozzle turns the other.. It pushes the back around rather than turning the front (like a bike).. ok.. If the ski is leaning and the nozzle is turned the other way, It will be pointing out of the water..
Now if you turn left and lean the ski left (until the pump is just about to let loose) then unwieght your ski, throttle down (to pop the pump out of the water for just a flash) then you turn the bars the other way and gas it just as your pump hooks back up. Wooosh you can shoot water for 50' no problem and ride away without even slowing down much.

Remember water cops hate to see that and will bust you in a flash ! BIG ticket
Racers will punch you in the face if you do it to knock them off as they are passing you !
Boaters will throw beer bottles at you and try to run you over..
People on the beach will throw rocks (when water hits the beach it will throw up rocks/sand and hurt people)

Its a show move only ! Looks really cool !
Please only practice away from anything/body

Once you get it down you can pretty much hit a bullseye 20' away with a spray hard enough to knock someone right out of thier tray from 10'

i went out and tried this the other night. Works good but mine only goes maybe 15-20 ft, and it wouldnt knock anyone off a ski... anyone got a video, or a differetn way of explaining how the ski should be to get the shoot-age described??

What do you mean "unweight" your ski? Do you lean forward as you throttle down to get the pump up ??

I tried this several times yesterday and I got nothing. I need some more explaining. I was just trying to go moderate speed and lean the ski over one and start to turn then crank the bars real hard the other way. nothing.

it just basiclly lifting your pump up out of the water and shooting a blast... Not complicated at all.... I do it when I'm surfriding... Go straight at the wave (usually a crappy whitewater mess) and turn a 180 spin into the wave and then rehook the pump and cock the bars and unweight the tray a bit and bam.... huge spray out the rear of the wave...

Knocked the wind plumb out of my son one time doing this, gotta be carefull it will hurt sometimes. I am just glad he didn't tell his momma on me LOL that would have been he!! to pay. He was still feeling it that evening but was like ah just crash hard today MOM no worries.

PS, if you go down riding in 615, you better get back on and riding quick cuz U fixin to get pumped if not PERIOD.

You can also just press really hard with one foot in the front of the tray while pushing down on the handpole. It will also pull the pump out of the water.

My buddy could do it that way on a SX 650 but him or I couldn't do it like that on a SJ without losing control or doing a 1/2 sub.. I'm sure it can be done that way too !

We have been doing that for years. Toby has the best aim I have seen, he can point and shoot with his eyes closed. When we used to ride in a local river, there was a metal chair about 6 ft up on a bluff that some bank fishermen used. We used to take turns trying to blast it around or knock it off. We got pretty good at hitting it and could smack it around pretty good. If you fall when riding with us you better be ready to receive the old pump wash punishment. Once you get the trick down you can have alot of fun with it..:sgrin:

A good way to practice on a lake (when traffic is low) is to ride about 30 feet out from the edge of a "no wake" zone with a lot of buoys and try to target them. The no wake zone at my lake has about 8 buoys spaced 100 feet apart.

I can't do this well, but I was practicing this week after reading this thread.

Don't slide !!! Just a quick lean/hop/whip the bars and brap ! The farther you lean the higher the spray ! Just go back and look at your pump.. check out what is going on when you lean right and turn left.. Once you see whats going on you can get it to work !

ok fine.. a very easy way is this.. at the beach/lake edge waist deep in water.. stick your knee under your ski (left side)and lift the back end out by pulling the bars to you(like a racer would do with no holder) start it up and let it idle.. turn the bars to the right.. it will start squirting (give it a blip).. the more you lean the higher it will squirt ! then after you see whats going on it should be easy to do while riding..

Last weekend surf was weak at high tide. so we made a game.
Spray whoever goes up for trick.

2 points per hit....
5 if you knock them off.
10 if they loose the boat...

Ant on the boards... Pulverized me... I splated so many rolls.
and nearly knocked me off... What a blast.

i have been having alot of fun with this also. i ride up next to a bluff or bridge pillar to see how high i can get. so far i have only made it about 15ft up. great way to piss people off. :grumble: :wave:

I put my chest on the chinpad then I reach up and grab the right side of the pole as far as I can reach with my left hand and swing my legs around while kinda pulling the ski under me. One of my friends stands on one of the rails and then just kinda jumps onto it, but it looks like it would hurt the knees and I think the way I do it just looks better.

Hand holds might help I dont know though my ski is bone stock and I can do it pretty easy now. I would reccomend a bilge if your going to be doing fountians though.

One of my friends saw this, and said "spray me!" Ok... so I did a foutain, but instead of shooting it up, I shot it straight at him. 20' away (which is pretty far for my little 650) I hit him square in the nutz and he fell down.

Everyone laughed, I helped him up.

Ok. Here is a good explanation. Go straight. Then when coming up to your target you can do an initial bounce (like going for a sub) on your second bounce turn in the air (do a mini nose stab) and it works well. Anyone else do it this way?

Please be careful and make sure no cops are around when you do this to a downed rider. I was riding and a couple jackasses were doing this about 5-10 feet from their buddies heads. I went over to talk to one of them and his buddy sprayed us while we were talking, haha, asswipe. Nothing wrong with sprayin someone, but getting close enough to take someone's head off isn't a good idea.

My best spray ever was on a house boat trip at Lake Shasta. We had 3 houseboats tied together and about 60 people were on the rear decks gathered around the kegs. A guy rode up with a 550 asking for a beer, I gave him a beer in exchange for a ride. I did a few tricks then rode up close and did a fountain towards the rear decks. I drenched everyone, turning the bars side to side and nailing everyone. I didn't expect it to work so good. I thought everyone would be pissed, but everyone cheered and just got more beers.

Hop not needed, just lay it over farther almost to a slide, then crank and hit the gas. It should throw damm near 100 feet if you do it right.
