I just took this 38mm Keihin carb off of an X2 and it was pretty wasted. i took it apart and heres how it looks.. my question is, is there a point where a carb is trashed so bad you just better off throwing it away? what should i look for to make the descision whether to buy the rebuild kit or to just buy a different carb?

thats not bad at all. as long as all the screws and jets come out your good to go.

i took it apart and soaked in carb cleaner for an hour or so.. the choke was so rusty it disintigrated when i took it off. and all the crews internally are rusted to teh point of not being able to come out. i've never done a carb before.. how precise and clean does all the stuff inside have to be?
