As of yesterday, I have enough money together to ensure I am going.

I have a family camping trip I will be on at Lake Nacimiento, which is about 1 hour 15 mins away from Pismo. I'll try to make it down one day for a little surf riding (most likely Friday or Saturday), then go back to the lake to flush out the ski... :rolleyes: ... So as of right now... count me in for a morning ride.

I'll be driving my 06 Black 4 door Tacoma. Hopefully I'll have my beach tote with me.

When do you think you'll be arriving Matt?

Myself & Phill will leave Eastern Washington July 18th - Wednesday night. Plan is to drive all night and then get there maybe Thursday around noonish.
I'll be driving a white 97 Blazer pulling a rusty 3-place trailer.
Phill will be driving a gold Chevy Van pulling another small trailer.

My skis: black/copper Roundnose, blue/white camo Squarenose
Phill: Blue/Silver Square, light green/silver Square.

Where to stay: the majority of folks seems to want to stay camping on the beach. You can make reservations online.

I don't know how far the Bakersfield airport is from Pismo, but I am certainly willing to help you out with shuttling.

wow $650???? I would see how much it would be to fly into LAX or Burbank... probably cheaper... you'll probably need to rent a car anyways... just a little longer drive. Bakersfield to Pismo 2.5 hours... LAX to pismo 3.5-4 hours. All in no traffic.

Enzo lives in Bakersfield. He'll chim in a bit and let us know how long the drive is exactly.

You guys know what I ride from, check out some of the pictures on the forum. I would offer my camper, but it's full up. But there will be plenty of drinks, and the bathroom will be available. It is a 2 hour drive for me. Driving from the the airport would probably add 15-20 minutes. Seems like you could find somewhere closer to fly into. What about San Luis?

Oxnard Airport is a 1 hour 45 min drive from Pismo also. Straight shot up the 101 freeway. Nice drive, and Oxnard Airport has multiple flights to and from LAX everyday.

LAX is always in the traffic and Ontario is only 3 hours away with hardly ever traffic ! I really dont think flying into a closer airport will save any time at all !

Thanks for the props. One of my better feeling stabs I have performed. Lately I've been landing on my head when doing stabs... don't know what I'm doing different.

I changed my pole bracket, but I didn't start landing on my head until like a week after that, so not sure if I can contribute the head landings to the bracket or not. I wonder if for my height if my pole setup is too short??????!!!!?????????

Im thinking that wont be a problem.. that south pacific Typhoon is still alive with 157 km/hour winds and wont hit land till the 14th.. the surf should start picking up in a few days (4-5) and start tapering off around the 20th...

I am heading down to Chula Vista hopefully Monday afternoon from Northern Cali to pick up a 96 super jet. I was thinking of stopping by and checking out the Pismo ride on the way back around Tues. Is this to early or will there be people there during the week? Also where exactly do you go? I have only been to Pismo once but I remember a little building that you pay to enter the beach then you can drive down it. Do you turn Left after this "South" and just drive down the beach? How far does everyone park and setup camp? I think this would be an awesome experience and might give me a chance to break in my new ski if I have some time LOL. I dont think I will actually ride it until I get use to it and such. Thanks for the help.

no way i was going to ride today but it was pretty windy in san luis so i figured the white caps would be in by the time i got out there

Last year we had a few problems with riders getting to close to swimers and we/lifegaurds had to pull a few riders out of the water and have a talk with them (a warning)..
This year we will be on a close watch and it wont take anything to get us shut down.. So lets get a few things straight because I'm sure there will be NO warnings given..

1. NO riders within 200' and any swimers,surfers,waiders or anyone in the water at all, other than us riders..
2. If we are in a spot and surfers or swimers enter it WE move not them ! Even if we have to pack up and head down the beach a mile or two !
3. This isnt a Event once again.. just a bunch of guys taking vacations ! (just like the dune riders) No one is in charge other than the Life Gaurds/State Parks and rec. officers..
