Right on.

That's the first time I've seen an FX-1 where the ski actually looked too big for the rider. That's awesome. How old is he?

Cool video! My little 4yr old guy rides ...but not alone yet! That's him in the avatar with me. Probably a ticket waiting to happen but at least he can swim and wears a secure life vest..

I've always wondered if there was anything wrong with riding like that also? Every now and then I will take one of my fiance's friends for a ride like that if they don't feel comfortable riding alone.

Awesome!! He really does have total control and total confidence when he rides.

Lake, you are a cool Dad. The only thing my father let me ride when I was your son's age was a Craftsman riding lawnmower...they didn't even make B-pipes for them back then :banghead:

thats how I started him and his sister out Motobando.

first riding a couch with me, then once they were comfortable with that, riding in the tray with me on a standup.

there was a boat coming thru from behind him, and exactly as I instructed him, he went way to the side, and got on his knees until it passed.

My boy started on an SJ 650 w/ b-pipe and twin 38's at 10yrs. old he is now 14 and has an awesome ride that he is doing no handers and stabs and all on.
Dylans 96 roundy:
Wamiltons hood, pole bracket, nose pc.
AC/ RR -2 pole
X-metal / UMI turn system w/ UMI billet throttle and ODI grips
Twin rule bilges w/ s/s switch mount
Blowsion Tubbies frenched in, Rictor foot holds
Custom FLAT black paint (base clear) stealthy all fittings and billet are anodized black too.
Worx 201 intake grate
24/7 d-cut plate
13/16 cut back solas concord w/ WW cone
Hood straps
Now the power plant:
MSD Enhancer / Riva billet Flywheel
B-pipe mod chamber
twin 44 carbs
ADA girdle head (currently 215psi comp) going to 190 pump gas next week.
Ported still at 81mm bore w/ OEM pistons

This is an awesome maintinence free freeride boat IMO, I love it as does he.
So get ready to step up X two Mouth, it aint cheap but its kinda fun.

Its funny how when they are light like that they porpus no matter how far forward they get in the tray. My boy struggled w/ that and kept saying I need to gain wieght LOL, I told him no worry it will come, he prob. doubled in weight in the last 4 yrs. LOL, He rides really good and I am waiting for the day he passes me on up on skill level LOL. His 1st time actually riding by himself was at a Lanear ride over 4 yrs. ago, then he was hooked.

My sons boat:

1990 SJ 650, pro-tech package from back in the day ( pipe, head, filter, grate/plate, mats)

msd enhancer, solas concord 12/15 cutback.

rustoleum white appliance paint, crappy B grade turf.

Ive got about $500 in it as it is.

he is very happy with it, and it makes me a great backup boat.

Is your sons also a Protec ported cylender?(crazy looking port job) but very very effectiv. That 650 Protec set up is the friggin shiot, Travis (beochsadie) has this and it rocks. The boat was built by a local guy & Protec in early 90's and is still hitting awesome, it has been owned buy like 4 local guys here since it was new. We decked it out w/ a roundy pole and footholds and internal filler w/ smoothy nose pc. for Travis this past winter, Nice boat, I will be sporting it this w/e as my Rev is not done yet:banghead:.

Ive never had the head off of it, I am unsure if its ported or not.

from the way it feels, I beleive it might be.

its got 185psi on one cylinder and 155 in the other.

so its time for a top end job, but its still plenty of power to play with, so im not messing with it.

starts easy, idles well, and pulls solid to 7500 rpm.

IM not worried about it.

we have been riding it for a few years now like that.

Cool, is it a protec milled head w/ the pipe mounts and stuff milled off? I think they called it the sleeper head?

No, it is the typical black head, the pipe mounts to it. black and has a silver pro-tec logo cast into it.
