I make videos every other week or so, and am always on the look out for new music. Do any of you have any recommendations for non-top 40 type stuff. I love using off the wall bands. All types of music have a place.

From a motard forum I got turned onto Clutch, Guano Apes, Goodyear Pimps, Sigur Ros, and the Exies...

I've seen several videos here with great music, so i know you guys can come up with good stuff.

Thanks.

Hmm..
Babalon- Unwritten Law
Blame it On Me- Unwritten Law
Little Acorns- White Stripes
First Wave Intact - The Secret Machines
Lets Make History - The Internation Noise Conspiracy
The Bast Off - The Internation Noise Conspiracy
Banquet - Bloc Party
White Unicorn - Wolfmother
Colossal - Wolfmother
Neighborhood #3 - The Arcade Fire
Try Dis... - Hella
Phenomena - Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Pure Morning - Placebo

When you listen to a song you can tell whether it belongs in a flat water vid or surf vid to realy flow. That and you can edit to the song or find a song to your edit..

I bet Everything You Need from stoopid would go cool with a ski vid. I cant think of any other of their songs that would work though since they are so acoustical. Great group though!:1244:

pffttt...you should know better than that...if you think about what you are doing you can edit any type of riding to any type of music...

my next vid is going to be completely ambient, new age, space rock...with japanese opera thrown in for some variation...

And thats why your the man! Ive never done a jetski edit to a slow song, so its just hard for me to imagine. I never felt like slowing everything down. Your JK vid is a great example of it though!

Thnaks guys. I've got probably 75 vids I've made in the last 4 years. 2-3 minutes each.

3rd ski stuff, 3rd dirtbike stuff, 3rd streetbike stuff. None of it's on line now....

Normally, I film all year, make movies each week, keep it all top secret, then about 50 of us rent out a theater and watch it. Basically, we're documenting to our children, that once upon a time, we weren't cripled and lame...

that sounds pretty cool man, I wish my rents did that for me, but as far as slightly stoopid goes "closer to the sun" fits a lor of slow stuff. It was worth a try. :woot:

This is the kind of thread I always end up discovering new music from.... it's the best thing about the "long tail" and music.... before u had to read in a magazine or hunt around in a record store to find something cool -- which made the choices always subject to the "gatekeeping" of editors and music store buyers and etc... -- which would lead inevitably to mediocrity and the prevalence of "poser music" -- i.e. stuff that you want to like because you think it's cool, not because you really like it. Music journalism especially creates high-profiles for really lame stuff, because journalists are always looking behind their backs, trying to profile something that they think in 2 years people will think they were cool for liking "way back when".... I GREATLY prefer the democratic nature of threads like these, where people simply list their tastes and you can just look something up on itunes or youtube and check it out for yourself....

These days I'm really into techno and techno/rock and stuff like that -- try searching for these songs:

Thomas Falke "Revolution On The Dance Floor"
Groove Cutter "My Shooter"
Control One "Just A Little Bit"
Ian Carey "Redlight"
Kevin Weg "Dead Radio"

I don't usually go for techno but these are sort of like a wierd crossover between rock and techno/trance.

Here are also some downloads with some other cool stuff too -- http://www.electricfilebox.com/tracks

How about a little OLD SCHOOL metal.

Sepultura - Arise or Orgasmatron, maybe.

Pantera - The Art of Shredding

Or some Ministry - Stigmata or Just 1 Fix.
