View Full Version : SJ Exhaust and Waterbox in Blaster (B1)
Has anyone ever put a roundnose SJ waterbox into a Blaster and used the same kind of through-hull setup as a SJ on the right hand side? I mean putting the waterbox in front of the gas tank?
I'd like to be able to use a SJ B pipe style setup and not have to have all of the tubing.
I searched archives and saw that someone put a waterbox in the rear (that's also interesting, but I didn't see anything about routing it the same as a SJ.

Is there enough room in front of the gas tank?
I don't have the ski with me now (in Vegas), but was thinking about it on the plane. Pat's new XMW waterbox is a bit smaller than OEM and that might fit. I don't recall seeing anything to block it on the right side. There's no oil tank anymore and lot's of space there to run a hose.

You can put a waterbox in the back (supposedly) under the battery tray.
Here's one other consideration which may require using a SJ gas tank (if I recall, it is a little smaller). Does anyone know what waterbox this is? It is from Factory Pipe's website and since the file is called 650, I assume a 650SX. Are all year 650SX waterboxes like this? This way, I could use the existing hole in teh bulkhead, and for starters, the existing outlet for that matter.

Yes, they enter and exit on the same side on a OEM 650SX.

the inlet and outlet are much smaller than a b1 or sj

you could use a raider waterbox and mount it under the battery tray like mile said. that has ben done several times when a 1200cc triple conversion has been done.
