A sturgeon jumped out of a river and hit a woman riding a personal watercraft causing severe injuries, the latest accident involving the flying fish along the Suwannee River, officials said.

What a fishing story!
If yamasakis right I bet the 'water scooter' was an 80's doo or a valuable WR500. Anyone else have any fishing tatoo's? I almost lost my thumb last year from a lure on a tandem rig... there was a big skate on the other side of the rig too...

Crazy story. I think they have decided to team up with the sting rays.
All I know about sturgeon is around here, they grow 'em BIG. Theses beasts are some prehistoric SOBs.

The fish is 100 percent fine no doubt. I met a sturgeon breeder (among other fish, for the state) that instead of tagging them for sex, they cut the belly open, and stitch on a plastic zipper, then they heal up, and when its sexing time they unzip and take a peak inside

The beast. I didn't know they lived in the south. Here is the Lake Erie Version.

just headin' north for the summer..C'mon...Everyone knows they only migrate South Florida.
Well, they do migrate North but that is only because of the ocean current and Gulfstream.

We have a few boat rallies on the suwannee every year and i got an erie feeling last time on the way back to the boat ramp runing 90+mph after seeing 2 or three of them jump out of the water as to what at that speed it would do to me and my boat, some are 4-5 feet long jumping 2-3 feet out of the water, Matt

Sturgeon can't jump, they have no legs dummy. A sturgeon breeder?? does he put a paper bag over their head first?
