I like your theory. it probably wasn't a rental. I was there talking to him when it was stuck and he said that HIS sclade had all wheel drive. So, he rented another to tow his ski's (3d and rxp) to daytona beach? doubtfull.

What do you mean not put the guy down? He deserves all that and then some. It's Darwin at work and he could not have fit the stereotype any better with what he was towing. I didn't see a single other vehicle get a third as close to the water as he did. The guy was a total idiot and the pinacle was when he left it in drive and got out and raised the hood. WTF??? He should be shamed to death as an example to others.

Daytona was a f'ing BLAST and who cares about someone getting stuck!!!???!!

I don't have the words for the complete coolness of everyone and everything I witnessed there. Unreal!!!!!

Canadian Steve, MaGoo, Jersey Jimmy, Pete, Nick, JK, Mark (madoyster) and son, SJBRIT ......everyone! Unreal!!

I did'nt get my ski running until Sunday at noon which left me only 4 hours to attempt my first back flip during my first ever ocean surf ride. I'll get it next time!

My balls and skill grew 30% this weekend!! Not to mention the advice from Kenney and canadian Steve and MaGoo. It WILL happen and when it does I won't stop doing them until I can no longer ride a stand up!

I had a total blast!!!! I really don't think things could have gone any better than they did... I just want to thank everyone for being so generous and respectful. Also a huge thanks to the sponsors for really stepping up to the plate to make this event more than just a bunch of guys riding.... These Freerides are the future of the sport and w/ great people like who showed up for this event, we will continue to grow and attract more people to the sport of freeride. I can't thank Pete, and Paul, our wives, Robert, Sherry for really helping me out and giving me undying support...

We had over 100 skis, 120 pilots, film crews, 44 rooms rented, spectators everywhere, and made $2,168 for Volusia County Junoir Lifeguard program... I call that a freaking awesome weekend!!! btw - I also want to give Joe Kenney props for giving me the idea to give to the Junior liguard program... He has done a lot of work w/ them in the past and I think that is the charity I will continue to work w/ They want to certify 500 kids in water safety this year and now they are fully funded to do so... We met there quota for the year!!!!!!!!! THANKS TO ALL YOU GREAT PEOPLE WHO CAME AND GAVE!!!!

Sorry the flyby was short guys. I had fog Fri. morning, tornados Fri. night, and a 40kt headwind Sat. So I was pressed for time on Sunday. My camera was having problems and the other pilot was a beginner. If I made it on Sat. I would have taken a photographer up and hovered a while... Anyway here's a few good shots I got. If anyone has any pics from the Daytona ride that show good views of the number of riders, spectaters etc etc. I would love to see them. I am going to be getting together with the Director of our Action Sports Business Unit at my company (New Era Cap), and I wanted to get him an idea of just how big some of these events can be.

Right now our Action Sports division is mainly focused on skateboarding, snowboarding (including the USA Olympic team) and surfing however, we recently began doing some caps for the Metal Mullisha. I am hoping that we might be able to start broadening our scope.

This weekend was a blast! Buy the way, that was our scalade in the
surf, and that **** ain't funny Man!



No just Kidding, Bill decided to bring a rental rather then bring his
badass SUV. (He vowed his truck would see no salt water.) Bills SUV has 26's on it. Like 12-15 grand, not to mention the high tech extras. Man, what's it like to own something that you can't drive cuz it's too bling, bling. . humm. Anyway, he thought all wheel drive was standard, so no problem that's what we'll rent, not this one. Two wheel drive? Hey let me tell ya, Bill have brought a monster truck had he thought it adequate. (And that’s how we get down here in Pompano) But that was some funny ****, especially when the band snapped off the truck a couple of times. LMAO

Did I saw how much fun I had.

Here’s a quick run down of how this event went for me
-drove 1200 miles Thursday.

-rode fri did numerous backflips (oh ya) and hit bottom at least three times cracking nose of ski (minor)

-drank my face off Fri night and meet all kinds of cool people

-massive hangover Sat. Only rode for 45 min. Did numerous backflips (oh ya) and hit bottom again. Hung out with cool people

-Didn’t drink at all Sat night, just sat in the hot tub to sooth my very sore muscles. Someone suggested/dared a swim in the ocean. I’m Canadian so in I went. It wasn’t really that cold. Hung out with cool people

-Sunday rode for about 45 min. Did numerous backflips (oh ya) before clogging my cooling lines and thinking I blew up my Lamey (Yikes). Tore it down to find it was only a blow o-ring (Yippy). Hung out with cool people

-Monday rode for 2-3 hrs did numerous backflips (oh ya). At one point I did 4 flips in about 5 min, showing off for Nick, the Cali boys, Fab & Kris and anybody else who would watch. Also did the best barrel rolls I’ve ever done. This is a milestone for my since I’ve been trying rolls for about 8 years and finally did one correctly.:biggrin: Landed upside down on a backy and concaved my AC handlepole, messed up a roll and tore off the side trim and had a mystery engine problem by the end of the day. Hung out with cool people

-Tuesday Drove home 1200 miles and went to bed :biggrin:


Can you tell I like hanging out with cool people/riders and doing backflips.

Overall this was the most fun I've had in a long time and on top of that I rode better than I've ever ridden before.

We already have rides like this on the left coast schmuck....only we weren't smart enough to parlay the donations into auction items to raise money for worthy causes (must have been the zeal to ride, and then get bombed out of our gourds at the end of the day...and go play in the dunes).

It's called Pismo Beach.

We usually do this in August, though I'm lobbying to move in into wintertime as the surf is bigger and the weather is (believe it or not) much nicer on the central coast from Thanksgivine until about April.
