Up for sale is my 1990 TS. I've owned this TS since August of 2005. I bought it as a basket case out on Long Island. Alot of man hours and detailing have gone into this ski. Included with the ski is an extra seat and a cover. The stand is not included in this sale, nor is there any trailer. I have clear registration for this ski.
The hull is in very, very good condition all around. When I got the ski, it was disassembled and I cleaned all the metal parts in a plastic media blasting machine. The front bumper has never been removed, and shows some wear, but that's the only down side to this really nice hull. The seat is badly sun cracked and as such, I acquired a second seat that is not much better so you can still ride while the other seat is being recovered. I made the mistake of marking the reg number on the hull with magic marker, and still using goop to get the markings off. The glove box is in excellent condition and the tray mats are all there and in excellent condition.
650 pump with Skat Trak impeller. Don't know the pitch, think it's about a 15.5 or 16. The impeller is in great shape. The pump is drilled for dual cooling, and the hull is drilled and a stainless tube carries the secondary water forward. The remainder of the pump area is all Ocean Pro - nozzle, intake grate and ride plate.
The bulkhead bearing housing I bought off ebay, and it's in very nice condition. The driveshaft is the original 1990 driveshaft. The driveshaft is not pretty cosmetically, but is straight and true. The stainless water line for dual cooling is capped off at this time.
The engine is a stock 1986 engine that came out of an X2. I disassembled, cleaned and reassembled the engine with fresh crank seals and new gaskets. The engine pressure tested at 8 psi and held rock solid. The engine runs nice and has 160 psi compression in both cylinders. The engine is set up right now with one water line into the exhaust manifold - the dual line is capped and stowed. A nicely shaped secondary water line to the exhaust manifold is included, if and when you go to a ported, high compression engine. Cylinder head is drilled and plumbed for dual cooling. Water bypass runs forward, out the OEM hole up front.
Electrical is stock, the CDI box is original 1990. The stator is from a 1993 X2. The starter is 1986 X2. The start stop switch and harness is from a 1992 TS.
The carburetor is a 40 Keihin, topped with an Ocean Pro flame arrestor. The intake manifold is OEM, bored to match the carburetor. The reed cages are OEM. The reeds are fiber reeds. The ski is equipped with a trigger throttle, and the throttle cable and bracket are 1992 Xi. The throttle cable bracket is buzzed off to clear the hull. Primer is my own installation, just aft of the carburetor inside the hull. Primer bracket is aircraft aluminum, epoxied in place.
Exhaust manifold is the later diverter style OEM manifold, nearly brand new looking. The ski is highlighted with a full Coffman's exhaust system - including waterbox.
Fuel tank is stock - fuel lines are plumbed to draw from the reserve pickup. Fuel switch on dash is unhooked and left in place. Water trap for fuel tank vent sits just above the tank - my own installation. Fire extinguisher sits up front, and plumbed up front is the water bypass from the cylinder head.
I think you'll agree that this is one nice Tandem Sport. This model takes a hit for not being popular, but for a ski that can carry a big cooler, be the safety boat at a race, or a general utility boat, it is certainly a model that can do alot. With the mods that this ski has, it can hold it's own with many other ski's, and I bet can outrun just about any TS out there. Well, maybe not every TS....
I don't need to sell this ski, and not interested in bickering or offers. I know what the parts are worth if it's parted out, and I know what I've put into this ski in terms of effort. If you want the ski, I want a thousand. That's it.
