View Full Version : Customs skis' from Air Time Products (UK) - April 2006
We were asked to build two freestyle skis for a budding would be freestyler, he was from another country and under the age of 16 years old. We were asked to supply hard hitting freestyle skis with a realistic price tag and no fancy paint job (wanted to keep it simple and kept the OEM graphics with a few others added). Reliability was a major consideration as technical back up was limited from their own mechanics. One of the nice things about this build was we started with two brand new SJ's straight out of the crate, and did everything in one hit, it makes you realise just how much stuff from the original ski you actually throw away.
These skis don’t have the fantastic paint jobs/artwork that some of you guys have displayed on here before, but they are custom skis fully kitted out with the whole Air Time Products (http://www.atp.me.uk/) range (at time of build more parts added since these two were built).
We’ve tried to show you as much as we can without taking up the whole forum.
Some picture gaps of the build.

Just thought we'd add the following as we don't think it's ever been shown on a Jet Ski forum before (I might be wrong) thought you'd find it interesting.
The following pictures show some of the process involved in making one of our (in house) Carbon Fibre pre-preg hoods.
There are more stages than this, a more detailed write up can be seen here
http://www.queenford.8m.com/hoodprepregbuild.htm more photos will be added to our website soon.
This particular hood has been built with the demands of surf riding in mind so extra layers were added, this hood and baffle bonded together weighs 9lbs.

awesome nice looking skis
why did you use a jetentics ignition and not one of your own
awesome nice looking skis
why did you use a jetentics ignition and not one of your own
At the time of this build our ignition systems were still in their testing stage so I really didn't want to put them on these skis until the units were 100%, our ignition systems came about because of the ever present supply issues with the one's we'd imported previously.
I never heard of ATP... do ya make SXR stuff?
As our interest is mostly freestyle and nearly everyone over here uses Super Jets for freestyle and SXRs for racing we currently only make a few parts for the Kwaks i.e hood latch, handlepole & steering etc.
very nice workmanship!!!
Thanks

They really are a pleasure to ride brand new and all kitted out (I run them in before shipping)

I think these are really cool sleepers, and they are skis that the average rider can afford and handle. Beautiful hoods!

wow, those look amazing. I lvoe the stock look, its awesome!
It would be impossible for us to give you prices that were meaningful because our countries have totally different economies .Over here these skis are typical of what a good rider would end up with. They are an identical spec to the one used by one of our sponsored riders Ant "Barrel Roll" Burgess which he used to compete on and came 2nd last year in the British Championships(he came second to now World Champion Lee Stone). However very few people have the money to do it all from new and in one hit, when you do it in one hit you realise just how much we spend on these skis and thats a bit frightening.

how is buying and modding a brand new ski more affordable than buying and modding a used one?
Where did I say it was "more affordable"?
They are not Lamey powervalve 8mm strokers with Full Spectrum carbs. They are good solid 760cc setups built for reliability with all the parts needed to freestyle/ride competitively.
