Do we see any symptoms of cavitation?

I don't think the stator damage is cavitation related...but I may be wrong.
I posted some great pics of cavitation destruction of a stocker SJ aluminum impeller over at PWCT a while back. I should dig up those pics.
Ugly, for sure.

I'm curious if anyone knows how cavitation would damage the stator veins .
Looks pretty bad though :aargh4:

I actually posted multiple pics (of pump) to link in an email to Dave @ impros. The cavitation I was referring to was on the Impeller.
The stator damage was most likely from the previous owner, one on the blades on the impeller has a big rock ding... draw conclusions here.
I think the impeller is stock, so I will be replacing it.

That does look like a cavitation damaged aluminum impeller, indeed.
The one I had was about three years down the road from that -already bad - state. It had holes eated just about through the hub.

Here's the link to my cavitation thread, with pics and tech info (http://www.pwctoday.com/showthread.php?t=41848&highlight=cavitation)

I had one one time I could almost see through
Cavitation might eat stator blades at some point, but not like rocks will

It looks like you had a good time trying to get that of the shaft as well!

wow, just reading your old thread matt...
i was/am a geek. good thing im outta college now and have forgotten all about those nerdy definitions and equations.
Yup it's still on there. I kinda gave up on it now. I needed a Blaster drive shaft and bought this one with the understanding it was correct. Well look at the pic, it's a 144 pump, but the shaft is longer than the Blaster's.
B1 driveshaft on top
Any idea what this other one is for??
Anyone?
Anyone?
Buler?

Michael, those stock stator veins need some cleaning up. Did you send the pump off to be blueprinted, or are you going to grind it yourself?
