Who else is having to scramble to get everything ready for the ride. We have been working until 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning trying to get it all ready. (plus a few projects I have to get done before we leave) Lets here it, I hope we're not the only ones having to scramble

No scramble here, but I'm a little nervous that I haven't put the Octane in water since Pismo last October. I was planning on riding yesterday but got rained (w/t-storms) out.
I know Johnny is scrambling to put together an SJ from scratch basically.

While I am not attending the Texas ride, I am in a scramble to get my ski ready for the Longbeach, WA ride.
I finally got my new footholds installed. Foam pad is down, gotta turf tonight.
I need to port a set of cases and jugs and put it all together and tune this weekend.

Don't forget you need to break it in!
my breakin recommendation- let idle on ac stand for 5 minutes, hop on boat, run wfo for about 400 yards or so- if it doesnt blow up your good to go! if it does blow up drink beer and rag on someone elses ski with great anger as if it was your boat- works for me!:skull2:  :skull2:

also some reflections on pipes from a sat of tuning- r&d drypipe rules over every other pipe ive ran including: stock(lame i know), riva red, pro-tec mach2, fpp sj mod pipe, and fpp b1 mod pipe by a great margin in both low end and top end isno comparison at all- water injection is awesome- and b1 mod chamber kicks sj mod chambers azz on my roundnose- lots of bottom end and very smooth power that just keeps pulling

Damn Jonny, are we gonna have to swing by Austin on our way to help you put that thing together  Looks like we might be doing better than we thought, now we just have to figure out how to get a pop up camper and a ski trailer down there with one pickup  I bet we can do it:cool2:
The Penguin

strap the skis on top of the pop-up
seriously...build a frame out of 2x4 so that you can load the skis above the bed rail of the truck - then you still have room in the bed to stor a bunch of stuff.

Thats what we did one year for Havasu, just sucks to unload them :skull2: Were just going to put a receiver hitch on the homemade ski trailer and pull both at the same time. We'll see if the Duramax is up to it :cool2:

Shouldn't you be focusing on my footholds, turf and hull reinforcement instead of hanging out on this forum? :jester: jk, you can drive down next winter to do those.

Funny thing is that I reluctantly went ahead and hooked up the primer on your ski. I dont use one, but since there was one on yours, I ran the hoses. It starts every time without it. I guess its nice to have for the first start after sitting all winter. Others will argue that primers are a must have... whatever.... my chit starts every time!
Footholds, turf & reinforcement... well, learn to ride first, newbie  !!!
And then if you want to fly me to Houston, I'm game... but besides that, I'm expensive too!! ha ha!

is that legal there??? not like it matters tho
The Penguin

yes Chevy - you can tow tandem here as long as don't exceed a certain overall lengh. I think you are fine. If one of the trailers was real long I would be concerned about the length rule.
