These guys are on the net selling fiberglass supplies and 2 part foam. I ordered 2 yards of a certain type glass they had on sale and some milled filler that seemed reasonably priced. My total was $47.39 for material that weighed a total of 6# (I get 5# on our works scales). They shipped Items from same location but packaged seperateley and charged me $24.99 frt for 6#. Once you take this rip off frt. charge into account they are way higher then anyone. I ordered a gallon and a half of epoxy resin, a quart of black pigment and 2 quarts of 2 part foam from another company and the frt. was the same as the 6# from Jamestown Distributors. :banghead:
Dont buy from them, it is another frt. scam.

I've been pretty happy with them. They had reasonable shipping for me (and that's from NJ to WA)
I actually found it to be a nice central place for all sorts of glassing supplies.
:dunno:
they have always been good to me always get my orders next day

That was shipped via two packages. I am not surprised it cost 24 bucks. What was the reason for the two separate packages?

Dont know but they came together. And 1 package was less than 2# and the other was 4#. No way it should be $24 bro. Call John Greer.

I was just going to order from them. Knowing this, the freight to Canada will be insane. Thanks for the heads up.

Did you guys ever order from Fiberglass Supply up in WA? http://www.fiberglasssupply.com/ They carry Stretchalon 200 vacuum bag film. Freight might be a little less for west coast shipments.
I just got hosed on shipping. 6 yards of glass cloth and a quart of cleaner was $24. There's no F'ing way that it cost 24 bucks to ship that. FYI I had to buy the cloth from them because US composites didn't have what I needed.

It looks like they charged me about $15.00 shipping for 10lbs on some west systems resin I bought from them.

Is it possible they charge that much for odd-sized items like glass and such?

When I worked at FEDEx certain chemicals could not be ship together or even transported together in the same truck. We all know how fun that 2 part foam can be. Maybe that is why but not sure.

when i ordered my 2 part foam from uscomposites it was shipped in a bag inside a box with other stuff i bought.
i ordered the foam from them which is 2 gallon containers and a few yards of biaxial that was 50 inches wide and came in a separate package cause it was rolled up and i think shipping was less then 20 bucks. i would make a big stink thats messed up. they are getting as bad as ebay is to ship stuff.

I think UPS is the one to blaim for this one....the same weight but as a "oversize package" (50 inches long) really makes it cost like 3x more. I just ran some #'s through UPS worldship. There's no easy way around that one.
Oh wait....let's blaim it on the fuel prices. :bs2:

That's why I was asking. Trying to ship oversize items through UPS is expensive.
