Is something wrong with me?

You've never had fried dog legs in mexico, they're a delicacy? You're obviously not well traveled my friend.
michael950
02-13-2007, 11:27 PM
Tell me the name of the dish. My stepdad was born in Mexico and has traveled all over the world. Unless this dish is served in the dirt floor homes, I am sure he has not eaten dog legs.
I myself have been in Cabo, Puerto Villarta, and Mazatlan. My honeymoon was a 14 day cruise in South America and I have been to Alaska and Hawaii.
I do not care about your avatar. I just think more thought and originality could have been used in rebuttal to the 10 year old shirt design.
BTW:
My stepdad is a leading expert in Multiple Sclerosis, and has traveled the world for conventions. 2 years ago, my parents were Continental Onepass Platinum Elite (70,000+ miles). He may have eaten dog, but not legs. I will ask if you want.
The circumference of the earth at the equator is 24,901.55 miles.
eschberg
02-13-2007, 11:53 PM
Is this not a jibba jabba thread where you're supposed to talk about things and people are supposed to take them with a grain of salt... I must be on crack or something.
Want a cookie for knowing the circumference at the equator and trying to show off your parents skymiles?
And just so you know...Dog meat is considered a delicacy in some asian cultures (including China, Korea, Philippines, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Mayanmar), and indeed cooked dog meat is very tasty and protein rich.

I do not care about your avatar. I just think more thought and originality could have been used in rebuttal to the 10 year old shirt design.
I for one can take being a but of jokes, I can hash it and dish it out equally. If you knew me, you would know I have not taken anything you said to heart.
I was just trying to prove a point. And yes, I know dog is a delicacy in Asia. Asia is not Mexico, and in fact they are in opposite hemishperes.
Just because I am an Aggie does not mean I are stupid.

A University of Oklahoma football player was visiting a Yankee relative in Boston over the holidays. He went to a large party and was introduced to a very pretty co-ed. He attempted to start up a conversation with the line, "Where does you go to school?"
The co-ed, who was not very impressed with his grammar or his Oklahoma drawl, answered his question,"Yale."
The OU player took a big deep breath and shouted, "WHERE does you go to school?"

On the topic of jibba jabba... You Texas guys here about New Braunfels setting regulations on the river for the summer?
Comal River, you can only have a six pack cooler.
Guadalupe River, you can only have a pack cooler.
(And you can't have 'reinforcements' in a bag or anything either)
Both rivers now enforce only one tube per person... no ice-chest tube anymore.

The new exhaust is on the blender. Not sure if I like it. Started out as a good idea.
Now its too quiet. The muffler at the end of the expansion chamber is to long/big.
When you watch the video the most of the noise is coming from the motor and out the carb, not the end of the exhaust.
I still need to weld up a new header for this pipe, but I will do that later.

All kidding aside, sorry, looks like I'll miss this one too.
I'll post here the first time I'm heading up to Somerville. I have a new intercooler and boost control chip to test.

Never count us out. The Outlaws will be there for The Lonestar Freeride. We are gathering the headcount and spreading the Surf News. Braden 'The Main Outlaw' Mattei, Gives us constant surf reports here in Austin, and we have been taking advantage of some epic days in Galveston. The surf in Texas can be really BIG and always a blast to ride. Check out www.galveston.com for constant web cam views and surf condition updates. We are ready to rack up some AIR MILES with you. All the Best.

That's cool the Outlaws are coming. You guys ought to have a ride in Central Texas somewhere, or at least come with us when we go to Corpus.

Good question. There would be a lot of logistics to iron out if we moved the ride there (maybe for the fall.) Till then, I'm thinking whenever is fine for a scouting trip over a weekend.

6 of one 1/2 dozen of the other to me. They're so close on the map, I couldn't care less. Now all we need is a beach name, places to stay, access to garden hoses, and a date :)

www.portaransas.org Access is via Ferry or via Corpus Bay Bridge.
I have used the Coastal Breezes Cottages (The Pompano) and have stayed at the Tarpon Inn. There are multiple Condos/Cottages listed on the Chambers site. The island has a full Marina.
Magee Park Beach is County run and Mustang Island Beach is State run. Used both. Near the jetties you can pick up some sweet waves. Body surfed those a few times.

Port Aransas is an island paradise tucked away on Mustang Island off the Texas Gulf Coast. Enjoy 18 miles of uncrowded, unspoiled beach on this part of the world's longest barrier island, and one of only three in the United States you can still drive on with street legal vehicles and all things beachy. Our beaches are great for shelling, strolling, sunning, playing and family fun!
A popular year-round attraction, area beaches and inland waterways offer some of the best water sport activities such as windsurfing, kiteboarding, parasailing, kayaking, jet skiing, fishing, surfing and more. Soak up the natural serenity or take it to extremes in the surf and seas. Come try a little bit of everything for a big lot of fun!
Looks like you can camp at Mustang Island State Park.

I am sure you may know this already, but in Port A, all watercraft have to be at beach marker 50 or higher. Any closer to the jetties and you may/will get fined.

Mustang Island is pretty primitive. But if we do in town sleeping arrangements and drive out its only 15 minutes probably.
I've only boogieboarded down there... never ski'd. Nice to know about the beach markers.

See, we need more locals with info like this. Got any insight on a way to house 50+ jet-skiers?

not to be negative, but the waves arent much better, it's a bit of a drive for anything, and it's a state park which means the WILL be a TPW officer there at the gate:sneaky: .
On the otherhand there are some good partys out there, I have done the high speed trials out at Bird Island Bassen and it is always on those weekends.

Actually...the beach access is still free and there isn't anyone at the gates. The drive to marker 50 is only a few miles out of Port A, so it isn't much of a trek at all. As for housing....I am not sure if they allow tents on the beachfront doen there, but there are many many condos/hotels that may give a discounted rate if we have enough people...would have to make calls.
As for police presence...no more that you would find patrolling any other beach (except maybe Crystal.... )

Agreed. Thats been my experience also. Its seriously like 15 minutes from Port A to Marker 50. Markers start in Town. The county beach requires a yearly pass like Crystal. But it was only $7 or so last time I went.

We will be taking 290 to 10 then the 124 to 87 blah blah you know the drill. I don't want to mess with the Ferry.
