beach parking passes

The infinite wisdom of Galveston County decided to implement a beach parking sticker required for every vehicle that parks on the beach.

basically the rule states that if you are driving on the beach - you do not need the sticker. If you are parked on the beach (vehicles, golf carts & 4 wheel ATV's included) a parking sticker is required.

the stickers cost $10 and are good until Dec 31 of the same year.

if I purchase them prior to Feb 28, I can buy them for $5 each.

One catch - in order to buy more than 5 stickers - I need a name and license plate number for each sticker.

I'm willing to purchase up to 50 stickers in advance if I have everyone's plate numbers in order to do so.

Alternatively - you can submit a written request for a parking sticker (by mail, with payment) to:

4102 Main Street
La Marque, TX 77568

to purchase at the discounted price - requests must be postmarked by February 28, 2007

I'm torn about it. $5 is nothing for the year. But I have to have for my truck and the golf cart. and the 2 Honda scooters if I ever get them running again.

all the money is supposed to go back into paying for beach improvements (restrooms and etc) - so we'll see how that turns out.

This is the first year for it.

What is the turn around time on these things? I will just mail mine in if you think that they will get back in time.

There are also supposed to be people walking/drving the beach looking for vehicles without stickers and they will stop and sell you one on the beach. I don't know if that last part has been implemented.
