Here's my 6 stitches.
To get the lip lined up, he had to put the first stitch in WITH NO PAIN MEDICATION.

Sounds like my luck... but I do know of a web site that has a write up on how to fix that exact problem....

Yep, it was worth it.
What's weird is I really thought i had it, was 100% committed, decent wave, but the pics show no height and no rotation and I wasn't looking back.
Grrr, last fall I got past inverted on a paddlewheel boat wake here in Louisville and didn't even come close on a real wave.
And yes, I'll be looking for a full face helmet soon enough.

Baaaa, never happend, no witnesses :cool2: I could not tell if you just hit the wave in a bad spot or what but you went up and your rotation just stoped and you just hung in the air until it came down on you. That first pic looks like you are off the gas............gas that sh^% :woot:

glad to hear you're alright. I was worried when I saw you floating out there with your hand on your jaw and your boat upside down. after I fliped your boat over I thought for sure I was going to tow you in but your boat fired right up!

We had a "contest" for first time back-flippers. I think there were 12 of us in total, in three 10 minute heats of 4 people each. The general idea was that, since it takes more guts than anything to back flip, a little peer pressure from over 200 of your closest friends is just what you need to man up and go for it. It was a blast - the most fun I had all weekend

It was a contest, 6 riders, 10 min session, whoever completes their first backflip in their riding history wins. (can only have completed one backflip at any other time)

I forgot to thank you for helping me out, so thank you very much. I was making sure I didn't have teeth falling out and wasn't worried about the ski.
It always starts right up, Chris Maros hood + LPW power = no problems.

Took 1 stitch out last night at home, just got 4 more pulled here at work by the EMT, the last one is so embedded we can't get hold of it, so I may end up having to get cut just to get it out. GRRRR
We're going to try again later, the area may have swollen some making it harder to get at.

Tomorrow I go for an MRI on my right shoulder. When I crashed/landed, I braced and the shock got my right arm/shoulder pretty good. It has slowly gotten better, but now that I'm exercising regularly and doing a lot of pushups, my collarbone is compensating for the shoulder and my sports medicine doc is pretty sure there is a damage inside. If there is, I'll need a scope procedure. Grrr.

man... I F'ed my shoulder up pretty bad sometime... don't remember when, but it cracks and pops pretty hardcore...
Oh BTW - these youg guys were down from the UP of Mich. last weekend and one of them (Casey) dislocated his shoulder... It was pretty gnarly.
I helped him put it back in place... it went right back in w/ a little manuvering...

update: after an mri (arthrogram actually with dye injected inside), I have a small SLAP tear and a possible labrum tear, but after seeing a sports medicine specialist, he doesn't to scope it and would rather see me do physical therapy to see if it continues to get better.
I think I'll be fine as it's gotten TONS better since Daytona, and doing the proper strengthening exercises will be WAY better than me doing 8-count bodybuilders at home.

8 count body builders
Start in a standing position.
1. Squat down and put your hands on the ground in front of you.
2. Kick your legs back into a pushup position.
3 & 4. At the same time you kick your legs back you do a pushup.
5 & 6. Then kick your legs out to the side and then back( when you kick out you should be in the shape of a Y)
7. Bring you legs back under you.
8. Stand up.

Yeah buddy, they seemed to go on for hours when you were doing them. I was doing sets of 20 up until 2 weeks ago when I got my shoulder checked out by my regular orthopedic doc. Great exercise!
SLAP tear http://orthopedics.about.com/cs/generalshoulder/a/slap.htm
Doesn't this sound fun?
1. The SLAP tear is identified and excess tissue is removed.
2. A small hole is drilled into the bone where the labrum has torn off (the SLAP tear).
3. An anchor is placed into this hole; attached to the anchor is a strong suture.
4. The suture is used to tie the torn labrum snuggly against the bone.

I busted my chin again, this time doing a slow invert on flatwater. I'm not even sure where I hit the ski since I was still in the footholds and holding the grips. It may have been debris in the water too as there was quite a bit, but not really where I was riding.
I probably could have used stitches, but instead used New Skin, that super glue for skin. It's awesome, I put some on and stuck a bandaid on to hold it together until the New Skin set, and it's been perfect so far.
I should just quit riding...my chin would thank me for it.

Yeah, I'm thinking it's time to ditch the Gath and get a full face helmet, or bolt on a chin guard of some sort.
