:woot: This is a freeride event, not a race :joke:
Down here in Florida, Sunoco is the largest "race fuel" distributor and some few selected regular stations have an extra pump for race fuel.
At the very least, Volusia Speedway Park (http://www.volusiaspeedwaypark.com/contact.htm) has pumps at their track.

It may be a freeride, but nobody rides fo free
I think I remember one place on Intl Speedway drive that had it a few years ago, but not sure if they still do. Also cost would be important, if its $6.50 per gal. I may just bring it with.

there is a vp distributor in ft lauderdale, if enough people need it, maybe someone could bring up a 55 gallon drum of it and you guys can split the cost..... just a thought

Tricky's group needs 55gal and our group needs 40gal, might just drag it w/ us. If there is somewhere local that we can fill them up at on Sat. we will bring enough for Fri. and part of Sat. then just refill Sat.. Slutty will hook us up I am sure (as if he has nothing else to doo).

Daytona is the "Birthplace for Speed". There is race fuel all over the place. I know of three places close to the ride. I will be there this weekend and write down there names and addresses and post them for you guys. One I know is a 76 station on Nova rd just South of Beville Road. They sell 100 octane. And the is a Shell on US1 that have three different grades. I'll get some names and numbers so you guys can check on prices, brands and octanes.

There's also that little privately owned station that we got it at in 2004 and 2005 if it's still open. Can't remember what street it's on though. The guy had like 3 pumps, one was reg gas, one was 100 race and the other was 110 race.
there is also some in st. augustine at the GATE station immediately off the 95...

If race gas is sealed in a drum does it go bad? I know somebody that has barrels of it but it is at least a couple of years old.

i wouldn't risk it, even if the drums have been sealed. better off buying new gas than risk toasting a 1K motor over 100 bucks worth of gas

As of right now I don't have any use for it. It is at a friends house just wasting away. If I remember correctly he has about 5 drums. My thought was that if someone wanted it they could probably have it for free if they picked it up. I would have to check with the owner of it to make sure though.

Here is what I passed today on the way to the zone.
Vanson Auto Repair- 386-767-3416 It is on US1 in South Daytona. I did not stop, but from 40MPH it looked like he had 3 different grades up to 110 octane. Just North of that place on the opposite side of US1 there was a Sunoco station with 100 octane. On International Speedway Blvd (Beachside) there is Payne's Beachside Automotive that has race fuel. Address is 403 E International Speedway Blvd. Phone is 386-253-9855.
And you always have the airport where you can get 100LL.
So give these guys a call and see if they have what you are looking for and are reasonable. Also make sure they are open on the weekend or just get enough for the weekend on Friday.
I can look again tomorrow and I am willing to pick some up ahead of time if someone can not make arrangements to get the fuel they need. I have 4 gas cans that I use for my generator that can be loaded with race fuel.

I buy my race fuel from a car builder that buys 4 or 5 drums at a time every 3 or 4 years.. He says that he gets it cheaper that way because of the cost to go pick it up.. Anyhow his stash was 3 years old and he still runs it in his $30k motor. Also his 110 torco worked just fine in my 230 PSI superjet with a dry pipe and MSD enhnacer.
I would say it is fine. I would be all over it if it wasn't 18 hours out ther to pick it up..
