Daytona has now come and gone, and now it is time to begin planning for the second stop of the X-H2O freeride tour:

From the 'other' site, by Prem1x and updated:

Shake off the winter doldrums and come on down for sand, saltwater and small waves. There are no hurricanes this time of year, so come to Galveston for Spring Break!

When: March 17-18, 2007
Where: Crystal Beach, TX
Landmark: Hog Wild Fireworks Warehouse (was Newton's Burger Shack), Hwy 87 @ 9 miles from ferry.
Map: here (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=S+Oneal+Rd+%26+Blue+Water+Dr,+Port+Bolivar, +TX+77650&hl=en&ie=UTF8&z=15&om=1&iwloc=addr)
Directions: Getting to Crystal Beach (http://www.x-h2o.com/showthread.php?t=12055)

Looking for: Companies interested in supporting this pwc community ride.

Travel Tips: Reminder that the Bolivar Ferry does not allow gas cans. Ferry links (http://www.pwctoday.com/showthread.php?p=355368&#post355368). There is a sign posted before the ferry stating so. In no way do I advocate hiding them with blankets, towels, or trash bags, but I have not seen any vehicles with such searched for gas cans. Go around or don't get caught! How to go around the ferry. (http://www.pwctoday.com/showthread.php?p=354010#post354010) Those going down I-45 through Galveston can exit and take Harborside Dr all the way to Ferry Rd (Hway-87) to save ten minutes of going through Galveston.

Everyone check your trailer tires, etc before hittin the road!
the penguin will let you flush your ski, donate a little for his water bill!
Tips for salt-water proofing your ski. (http://www.pwctoday.com/showthread.php?p=352574#post352574) I highly recommend www.salt-away.com which has been good to this ride in the past.

Thanks,

Michael

I vote for the same weekend (approximately) as last year. St. Patricks day March 16-17-18. I have other commitments the weekend of the 24th-25th so that is definitely out for me.

I can't make it this year but...
I would say.. stick in crystal beach !! I'm not sure if you can drive on the beach anywhere else.. plus.. all the neighbors loved us and very cheap house rentals !!

There's all kinds of places in TX you can drive on the beach. All the rednecks here wouldn't have it any other way!

If anyone wants to make sure we have enough wood, (no pun intended) I could use one or two volunteers to cut up some fallen trees. Most of it is already cut up, but just in case. I can get more than we can haul.
It's located close to Hwy 90 and FM 2100 in Crosby.

I'll also need the services of someones trailer, I doubt it'll all fit in the truck with all my gear.
And hopefully I can make arrangements with the penguin to have it at his place a while before we all get there.

PM me for contact info.

Me and some riders are planning to come from Atlanta if we dont have conflicting schedules. Are there any camping areas or anything that we can stay out...or even camp out on the beach! anything to make the trip cheaper.

Camping on the beach is an option, no cost. However, you may want to see if Penguin will/can allow it on his or someone else's lot. Last year we had the wind was not too fun for tents.

RVs are much better if that is an option.

yes camping on the beach is allowed. there are no "campgrounds" that I know of - but there are RV parks.

some of the houses are pretty cheap ($30 per person or so for the weekend) - so be sure to keep that in mind.

Well, I had an SJ slip through my fingers by finding the ad too late. So, I'll probably be showing up on couches.

BTW, was it someone on this board who purchased the '90 square nose in Austin that needed the motor mounts?
