Waste....you ever ride over near Huntsville? Today, Sunday...was some unreal weather. If I would have had a full wet suit....I'da been on the water.

I don't have a full wetsuit.....so I pressure washed the driveway and sidewalk.. washed the acura and the Z71....and cleaned up the tray with acetone on my 97 RN where I just removed the mat. The square was telling me it wanted to go to the river all day. :nutkick: Hahahaha

I'm in Madison....about 4-5 minutes from where Wade and Ellen V. live. I hooked up and went out with Wade to test out my square after I got it a couple months ago and he mentioned you. Wade and I used to ride together dang near every weekend ...about 10 years ago. I am trying to get him pumped about getting his azz out on the water again next spring even tho he has the kids now. I would love to go to daytona. My fiance's parents live there and I would have a sweet place to stay for free in Port Orange...about 5 minutes from the beach. The only problem is that that I'd be skeered of the surf with the lack of riding I have had over the past 10 years (I've been in the dirt instead of the water). Gimme a couple months of riding this spring, and I should be pumped for some big air in the surf. I used to go down to daytona with my xp800 and get some visciously sick air. That was fun as hell. A lot better than a barge with a good roll on the Tennessee! I am looking forward to being back in the water this spring. I am anticipating a fun summer once again!:Banane01:

LOL! I just moved away from there - I used to be about 5 minutes from Wade off Douglass (down Matt Phillips if you know it). I was supposed to come out riding with you guys when you tested your square, but couldn't get out of work. Small world....

I don't mind helping with your footholds, but I probably can't make it over to Madison. You're welcome to bring the whole deal down to the new place (just past Hampton Cove) - hell, Jesse should come too and we'll have a fiberglass party!!

Kick Wade up the arse too - he needs to get his SJ up and running again. You know, I used to hook up with Wade most weekends about 10 years ago - that was when we both lived at the same apartments. Have we met before? I'm Adrian, got a wife called Suzi, used to slalom ski most of the time back then, or break my spine kneeboarding. I'm so glad they invented wakeboards....

I remember Richie and Bill, but I can't say that I remember meeting you. There was one guy over there at colonial grande that drove a red porsche...that used to go out with us every once in a while, but I don't remember his name. Hmm....wait....there was a guy that would be on the river quite a bit with a female when we were out there. He had a caravelle or a chapparal or something like that (I am betting that is you). Heck...I dunno. anyway.... Wade says he has a running square...the old 650 he bought off from Richie. That's why I bought a second ski though....in case anyone wants to ride....and they don't have one! Or in case one of mine is broke! Ha! If you're interested in schooling me in glassing up some footholds, I'll be happy to haul my ski. You would have been closer to me than Wade if you hadn't moved. I'm up Wedgewood Terrace Rd., right off of Nick Davis, up in The Ridge. Just let me know when you're free to mess with the ski, and we'll hook up!

I should have some WCF footholds by Friday. I said something to Jesse about this weekend and he said he wasn't touching his ski before Daytona. I guess he doesn't want any possible problems down there. I'm good anytime after I get the footholds in.

There was another guy named John that used to ride with us also. He had an older Kawi 650. I know he has a newer ski nowadays, but I don't know if and where her rides.

How many guys are there now that ride locally around here?

I went to UNA for two national championship football games in 1987 and 1988 for Portland State. Stayed at the Hilton and I went up to the roof at night and I remember seeing forever because it was so flat. It was weird to me coming from the hills. Muscle Shoals area I think? I remember some mall a mile or two away and some Bobs Famous Burger joint.

They treated us like kings. The food was a trip, the girls were amazingly nice with that souther hospitality. They really go all out for their guests. We lost both years and it was freezing cold. when I watched the game the other day it did not look cold. NDSU (north dakota sate) was so use to the cold and they just rolled a team that no one thought could be beat in psu. I actually cant believe they still host the game. They never got much of an audience compared to the 40-50 thousand that would watch the playoff games here in Oregon.

Hey Jesse,
What's the deal with your sig? Something about building boats to be cool online? I'm an engineer that doesn't much care for TV. What the hell else am I supposed to do? Something you might could relate to: in RC airplanes, many people buy ready to fly and others buy varying degrees of kits or just plans. My first RC plane was a kit that took me months to build. I thoroughly enjoyed it. That's how it is for me and jet ski's. It's very satisfying to think up some crazy ideas for a ski and then work to materialize your plans. I know it's strange, but I was almost giggling saturday night as I was laying glass on my hood because I was having so much fun. That's the way some people are. Just let us be.

I am about a mile and a half up Wedgewood Terrace Rd, where all the new construction is. I only know of a couple people that have moved out of the Ridge. However.....there are like 4 subdivisions as you drive up the road:

Wedgewood Terrace - older smaller style homes
Irongate - newer, medium size homes
Kellywoods - Older, larger style homes
The Ridge - Newer, larger style homes

It's interesting how you drive through all these to get to the back.

If I am gonna ride on the river, my preference is the Redneck Riviera down in Triana. It's nice having the beach to pull up on and hang out at if nobody brings a full size boat out.

I used to like getting up in the creeks off the river and ripping thru them.

I have ridden around the ditto area all the way up to decatur....but my pref is probably Triana, right in between the two.

Hey, last time I talked to Wade, he said he had a ton of buoys he picked up from overtons a long time ago and has never used them. You know of any place around here we could set some up and do some racin' without getting harassed?

Bouys is not good on a freestyle ski.

I got 2 skis.

I could make one a freestyle...and one a buoy racer! I'd like to run some buoys!

Beauregard's is closer to the glassing facility that, to the best of my knowledge, is out past Hampton Cove.

I'm from Florence, but I don't live there anymore. All my family is there. It is only cool for 1 weekend per year. That's the WC Handy festival. I'll have to get in touch with you guys and bring my ski next time I visit family.

Hey YZ, I am in Madison too. I got an apartment at Sun Lake Apts. Do you know of any woods to ride 4-wheelers in? I ma debating on selling my Kawie V-Force because i never ride it....

If you are wrenching on your ski I could come and be the "stupervisor beer consumer"! I haven't done much glass work in my years and need some schooling.

My two skis are back home but I will be bringing them down when I go home to WV for Christmas. I have only been in town since the last week of November. I will PM you my numbers. SJBrit, I need to call you up as well and come hang out.

Unless you bring the skis down after New Years I won't be much help... lol Only a month away though. I have a full wet suit but need to buy a tour coat, a neoprene head thingy, gloves and socks. Then I will be ready to rock. Even if you can't bring your skis, I will have a spare X2 for ya. Just buy gas.

Then again I don't know crap about where to ride, launch, ect. I am depending on SJBrut and YZ for their wisdom...

i have a good feeling it will be after new years before i come back for work. i run a 3/2 wet suit and do ok in it i really want a tour coat. the only ski i have at the moment i can ride is my x2, the sj is still in pieces. i dont know much about the area, but i do know several guys that live there for work and they have told me about a ton of places i should go ride. actually where ill be working theres a boat ramp a mile from the shop it supposedly is some backwater that opens up into one of the lakes there. not the best spot but close. do you know were TMF is?

no not at all.....but it's not a bad place to go out of. There may be some homeless looking guys wandering around..but just tell them no and they will go away. There was always a guy right when you come away from the boat ramp begging for change.....

other than that it's harmless!

Just don't try to go to the Chicken Shack!!!! :sneaky: they will shoot you there..no joke

divison 2 football game.. i fly in friday am and leave sunday..

no i wont have my ski w/ me.. sorry waste..

I was there in 1987 and 1988 for the game. Portland State vs Troy St. in 87 and we played the next year vs Noth Dakota St. NDSU was there in 81,83,84,85,86,88, and 90. Seven times in a decade....pretty awesome for a cold arse town. PSU lost both games.....it was tough to take for us cause we were used to playing in front of 35k fans and at NAU there were maybe five hundred people.

I dont know why they do such a disservice to div 2 football and put that game where they do. It was sooo cold and freezing and the game was played on what seemed to be a bad high school field.

I will never forget the hospitality they showed though. Unbelievable the way they took care of us. They really do love that game there. Flat place too. I come from the hills and that placed tripped me out it was so flat.

Elrods Burgers was good. Ahhh good times....

Look up Rocket City Hobbies (RC Hobbies). Cool place to drop some money. Anyway, park in the elementary school parking lot across the street from the hobby shop and then go around the ditch (by the road) and follow the dirt road through the cotton field away from Meridian St, not parallel, and across the railroad tracks. You are then on a couple thousand acres of atv and dirtbike trails covering a good bit of different terrain from jumps to mud to mountain trails.

Sounds liek a plan. I need to fix a few things on my quad. Bummer is not having my garage and all my tools I had back home. I looked up the MX track and they have trails quads can ride. I just wasn't quite searching for riding bussies when I can't go ride on a whim. I better get on my maintenance, clean carbs, replace swing arm bearings, buy a new battery box, ghetto rig plastic/reinstall, tube my front tires, tighten up a loose tie rod end. Yeah I think that's about it.... My ski run, just gas and go. Stock = reliable :) but also = no power :(

Sorry for the thread hijack.

The host for the GVSU was awesome. He has become a good friend w/ alot of the people that go to all the games.. Always got something planned for us to do. I have only been down once and that was last year. The other times i couldnt make it. This year i had it all planned out a few months ago.. plane tickets, hotel rooms all of it... Oh well.. changed my plane ticket to head farther south for the weekend..

Either way saturdays game is gonna be a good one i hope. go nw.
