I hate being the one who starts this thread, :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: but I figured that misery loves company and we can all wallow in our grief together, so post here if you can't make it to the ride.
I'm officially out. A buddy and I took over the responsibility of running the Pinewood Derby for our sons' Cub Scout troop and the troop leaders scheduled the preliminary activities on the same weekend as the ride . :cussing: :crying: :mad1:

BTW, I'm still gonna :nutkick: next time I see you if you don't win the Cherry Buster.

Hell I don't know. From what they told me, the weigh-ins, judging, etc. is the weekend of the ride, then the actual races are the following weekend.
Sometimes, being a good Dad can have it's disadvantages.

a good dad would say screw the pinewood and have the troop build up a superjet and bring it to daytona.
ps.
have grif tool you an areodynamic shape out of the pinewood and then add balast to make the weight.....if your gonna do it, do it all out

why so early? we don't have our pinewood derby until the middle of feb...just talk them into changing the date...tell um something like "the increased barometric pressure in january will make the cars go 5% slower"..let a few dads get wind of that and all of the sudden you will have a ton of amateur weathermen planning for febuary...

(no woman will turn this down)quite conveinently this leaves you with time to kill, may as well take a ride over to daytona and check out the freeride!there will be plenty of wives and gf's there to keep an eye on the kids while you bum a ride on someones ski:biggthumpup:

Well it looks like i wont make it back in town in time to go. We have been too slow this winter and my next job keeps getting delayed closer to that weekend. I cant skip the job cause i need money to spend on the event so i have to go. Trucking sucks.
I cant wait to sell my house so i can get a job that makes less money and doesn't require me to leave town. Have fun guys.
