i just figured out real quick what it would take for me to drive out and back to pismo

its a little under 6000 miles round trip

@ 13 mpg in my truck that equals and figuring gas in the neighborhood of 2.15 a gallon it works out to be $965 in gas

would need an oil change when i get there and when i get ...... 22.00x2

hotels out and back is roughly 208 total

roughly 1200 bucks out and back when all said and done

6 ski's out and back and for me to break even it would 200 per ski

8 ski's would be 150 to break even.

would it be reasonable to charge say 250-275 per ski round trip depending on how many ski's i take... not trying to get rich off of this just trying to take into account my time and such thats all

I would be leaving from 08094 zipcode if the load was not full when i leave, i can pick up 1-2 ski's on the way and take into account the distance when charging these people

again this is just an idea

Look at it this way, it's around 4500 miles for me round-trip. At 25mpg (Honda Accord), that's $387 in gas @ 2.15/gallon.

I'd say prorate it on miles and add some so you make some money to pay for food and stuff plus your time. I could see paying $300 roundtrip from here easily. $200 is a steal!

I don't think it would be unreasonable to charge twice that.

i was thinking no more than 350-400 on the highball taking into account wear and tear on the truck, tires if i need them by then along with food and emergency cash should something break

4 place with 6 ski's on it plus two in the bed would make 8 ski's which would it 375 a person and i would do it

Not to piss in anyone's corn flakes, but assuming 2.15 for gas for next summer for the entire 6000 miles is a bit optimistic. Think 3.15 - makes for better planning.

i would be going through southern pa, across central ohio, through indianapolis, through st. louis and springfield through tulsa and oklahoma city, through amarillo, albuquerque, flagstaff and then onto pismo

i will be on I-76 west to I-70 west, to I-55 south, to I-44 west, to I-40 west, to I-15 south, some socal streets to I-5 north, to 126 west, to 101 N.

wouldn't mind a passenger or two on the trip as well

hook it up, just as long as everything is in working order as far as lights, tires are good, bearings are good and all that other stuff that might hinder a cross country trip

i got a 6 place trailer and should have a 28ft enclosed trailer this week im def going i'll let you use plus your close if i get the enclosed we can put alot of skis in that plus i think there will be enough people going from around here where you can fill the trailer

sounds like a plan we will have to get together and sit down and plan this thing out... i have a pretty good idea logistically of time frames and stuff.

the 6 place will work. this would be one hell of a roadtrip. i know butch had talked about using lacey powersports as a central loading place... i talked to paul last night and he said chris is a nice guy and wouldn't have a problem with it
