It's redfish spawning time here......Flounder are FINALLY starting to hit. Most of the reds will be too big...but fun!
The flatties have been weak for at least 2-3 seasons.
The sj might have to sit for a while.
Sheepshead usually turn on in November.
I've neglected my passion for fishing for too long.....to ride. Time to fill the freezer.

I'm not commercial....only allowed 10 per day. But, if I get ten b4 midnight and ten after midnight,,,,,
Or, if I get 3650 per year.....
I don't expect it to be like it was years ago. But, I've always greeted new neighbors with a ziplock full of fillet. I'm sure we can work something out.
Can't get fish yappin' about it in the driveway!

Damn, They're already in VA....they haven't moved into Jersey yet. Our water is still too warm for Rockfish (stripers up here).

FInally got the gigging lights done half an hour ago. Just needed bulbs, but I've always used 12vdc 100 watt halogens. Kinda hard to come by. All of the usual spots that you might find 12 volt stuff max at 55 or 70 watt. Including home depot, lowes, auto parts stores etc...
There's a "bulb guy" here in St. Auggie that doubles as a pest control guy. I always got my bulbs and sockets from him. But he never seems to be open....and was very expensive....(4 bulbs and 2 sockets would be close to 60 bux)
They are the bulbs used in warning lights at railroad crossings.
I was in NAPA today to get parts for a generator at work and,,,,,there they were!!!
A bit different. Only had a pos lead. Had to solder a lead on for the ground and the bulb/socket is all one piece. But 7.99 ea!
I'm a happy camper
Wahoo are all over the place down south right now!! 38lber from last weekend.
Didn't get anything noteworthy on the bottow, but the dog had fun!

Goin' out this Sat! (after a front is never a great idea...but...)
Until I get another giggin' boat it's all hook and line!

Got 1/2 dozen flatties Fri 5/4. Pretty good for a full moon.
Waves were non existent, so fishing was the plan.
Sorry, no pics. 2 to 3 pounders. Good eatin' size.
EDIT: this was hook & line. My gigging boat and light rig was stolen Jan 2nd. Chained to a tree & padlocked......
how bout flounder?
mahi is my favorite

Flatties are flounder. (in my lingo)
You've gotta be a braver man than me to go for Mahi in a jon boat! lol. I stay in the intracoastal.
Even when I had an offshore boat, it seemed that everything I caught was an inch too short!
So, I stay in the creeks.
