The contract for the facility was signed this week. :arms: This is quite an accomplishment to pull off a race at a public park! :cheer:

The Date is June 16-18 at Ramsey Creek Park on Lake Norman in Cornelius, NC.

No Worries, it will be part of Mikes tour..

this park has plenty of shoreline, is bigger with more waterfront, picnic tables, "funbrellas" and is closer to the hotels and restaurants.

We should have lots more spectators and boats watching. This replaces the Mooresville venue.

I would like to personally say thank you for going the extra mile and getting the contract and the information out to us very early. It makes life so much easier when you are on the road 10-12 weeks out of the summer to be able to schedule early. Lake Norman has been one of my favorite races the last two years and I look forward to next year's race as well. I will be bringing my group of 6 riders, so count us in.

Placed 2nd one day and 6th the next day.....still had a blast. Hell, my first time competeing im placed last in both qualifying and routines and had more fun then I ever have

Randy had knee surgery a couple months ago which ended up with a 5 day hospital stay due to an infection.
He is up and riding but not sure if he will compete this year. But the summer is long so only time will tell.

Ya and there might be a trick that you've never tried but you go out in your run and just throw it because you just are so pumped. Like at the myrtle beach comp i was ready to just huck a BR even though i have never really tried one. I didnt because the 6 inches of water we were riding in wouldnt have been the best for upside down landings.

And another awesome things is your the only one that is every one is watching and you get them pumped up and then you just start going huge! Tons of fun!

Even if someone has a couple years of practice doing freestyle on a lake. When you take a Flatwater routine out to 3-4 foot of surf, 90% of that routine is out the window.
My first competition was in the surf. I was at a tottal loss of what to do. I just bunny hopped a few waves and managed to pull a Sub off after jumping a buoy. Eric Malone was competing that day and said " Great job man, the buoy jump/sub combo was Sweet Old school" and patted me on the back.

After that i was fired up and competed in 14 more events that year finishing Second in Reg 7 and 5th at Nationals.

Had someone said.." Dude Go Home and practice, Stop wasting our time" I would have never done another competition.

Corey keep it up man. I have much respect for you takin on that Surf last weekend. I didnt even want to race in that mess, but i did and im a better rider for it. Keep it up Bro.

I'll start with an oldy but a goodie, the great deep water start, followed by "going fast in a straight line" into tail stand, and a sub for the big finale.:rolleyes:

Good luck getting Entry fees reduced. Freestyle is already the lowest fee of them all.

Mike young used to let the Freestylers do 2 min in the morn then 2 in the afternoon. A qualifying/placement round then the actual competition.
The $50 for freestyle is low compared to some regions. But I have seen them as low as $35.

As far as the First timers, dont forget they have to fork out the cash to join the APBA for a year or do a weekend fee. Either way the ball bounces, its gonna land in your wallet.

With all that said, I'm all for lower fees.

I have never seen so many stand-ups in my life. I had a great time watching the races and especially the freestyle.

I need to get the LKN more often. It was a totally different experience having seemingly limitless space to play and run. Lake lookout is a small pond compared to LKN.

Ronny has to wait for the Magazines to select their photos first. After they select, he releases all that are Not going in a mag. After the magazine issue comes out he releases the rest.
